This at least explains the problems I have been having. Mrs H and Young Mr H are travelling to Brisbane next week. I had wanted to give them lounge access. I transferred two passes to Mrs H and got them linked to the flights. I transferred two passes to Master H and they would not link to the flights. I transferred them from his account to Mrs H because I hoped she could use them for accompanying passengers. No dice. The passes will not transfer now, nor have I been able to transfer two more passes to Master H. I cannot cancel Mrs H's passes. I have spent days puzzling over this and hours on the phone to various agents.
It would have been so much simpler to send an email to all members to say that passes have been suspended for the school holidays rather than the vague disclaimer on the website that many people will never see, and offers false hope that everything is still OK.
And apart from not telling anyone, how very dare they? They use the passes to attract people to their credit cards - and then tell people (or don't tell them) they can't use them at just the time they are most likely to want to use them.
At least this thread is giving me time to manage expectations. The idea of people with linked passes being denied entry fills me with horror. Do they not realise that these perks matter so much. It is a way for a hard working member to offer a benefit to a family member - and if those family members end up being humiliated instead of treated, it could create an enemy for life. Such short sightedness.
