Understanding [Fare Buckets] Expert Flyer

Instead of starting a new thread, probably best to post here.

When searching QF, does it only show what Bronze/Silver see?

I'm a bronze so only see available seats on popular routes 297 days out, and can see some F/J availability to the US at around that time in the calendar at present. However, if I search on ExpertFlyer 297+ days it seems to yield no results, which I find interesting..

EF only sees what is released to the US point of sale / available to other carriers.

If you are referring to award fare buckets the @madrooster has answered you.

If you are referring to actual seat allocation for particular seats then with QF flights that availabilty varies depending on the status of the frequent flyer number entered against Qantas in your expertflyer profile.

The ability to check non-US POS was introduced ~18 months ago IIRC.
UK was added years ago. Others, including AU, were added around 2 years ago.

They added POS search for Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland and UAE in April 2017.

How many tickets are available for sale in "J" class?

Is it correct that fare alerts for married segments are not possible with EF? For example, MEL-xSYD-AKL on QF, setting an alert for U availability to drop below two, when MEL-SYD and SYD-AKL only has one available.

It's disappointing that this thread has been closed. The topic is no less relevant now than when it was first started.
Thread reopened and merged.

Does EF take into account your QFF status level? Expanded award availability is a known benefit.

Happy wandering
Fred

In my experience expertflyer has never taken my status into account regarding award seat availability on QF.

it definitely does (sort of) with seat maps however.

Earlier this week, I contacted ExpertFlyer about a matter of viewing award availability. Here is an extract of their reply:

"… Also the QFF# on your account is for seat map searches and has nothing to do with the award searches …".

Just wondering if anybody with EF is able to tell me what PE seats are available on AA72 on 30 August, tomorrow please?

It is years since I helped out with these requests and I have to say again PLEASE make it easy for us by telling is the departure and arrival airports as expertflyer requires these. I can find it out using another tool (in this case FR24) but you already have this info!
