So there goes my other theory as well of leaving for SYD a day early.I would, but as flood levels should be their highest tomorrow, a train or a car to the airport sounds risky.

At this stage I will be returning to Australia on QF32 from LHR arriving into SYD at 8.15PM on Friday. I will stay at the ICH that evening and I have tentatively booked Quay for 9.30pm. (Any Takers).
Mmm, Quay.
I'd join you, but I'm going to be sitting in the State Theatre at about that time. Depending on what time you/I finish, could catch up for a few beverages afterwards though?
I'm staying a few blocks away at the Westin.
Almost too late to leave tomorrow unless I change the flights before midnight. If tomorrow is going to be an issue there is no guarantee that Friday is going to be any better. As for you leaving tomorrow, I haven’t heard anything to say that you wont be able to, though the flood maps don’t paint a pretty picture of the airport, so you’ll just have to wait and see.
THey were having issues with airtrain today, South Brisbane station flooded, so not sure it will be much better tomorrow.Had I not gone to SYD earlier this week i may have been tempted to fly up and join you... But isn't the train a fair way off the ground anyway? you might be in luck!

Hopefully Coachtrans is still operating on Friday as I really need to get out of here.

I don't believe the free change allows you to leave earlier than actual flight.Qantas and virgin are allowing free change to all flights so no need to do it by midnight. Check the website for details. Unless your with tiger....

To be able to change flights free of charge you would need to defer travel to a later date or store the value of the airfare as credit to be used later....

Actually I am departing from my port of origin. It says quite clearly changes can be made on the day of departure, and you are returning tom you port of origin.

I would not get a free change as the ticket is a BNE-SYD return. Also I do not think I can make changes on the day of departure as I do not meet the conditions of the changes allowed by QF on a cheap red e-deal.The Origin part is not related to the changes on the day part,
I have plenty of food and water so that is not an issue. Only concern would be getting to airport on Friday but I think that will be OK by then.I would go home early, resources and food, electricity etc will be a problem anywhere near the CBD, and don't forget both the New England and Pacific Hwys are not getting trucks through.

OK I am still confused. I have a flight for 14 January and you are saying I can change it on 13 January to depart 13 January free of charge? How about if the airfare paid is $75 but the airfare on the day is $104?
If that is the case I shall assess the situation tomorrow. Office is closed tomorrow and will more than likely be closed on Friday as well. If I am going to lose 3 days pay then I may as well leave early.
OK curiosity got the better of me so I called QF.That is basically the case. Check the qantas website note about the floods for full details. They have waived fare conditions as mentioned, so no change fee. But fare difference has to be paid iirc
