Thanks everyone for the great day, was good to meet and talk with some of the group... now i just need to remember the names to handles to faces :)

Cheers
Fuzz

Good to see everyone who made it to the MEL J lounge this afternoon when I gatecrashed the party :p

Sorry for those whom I didn't get a chance to speak to, but I did have to run to get my plane. We were the last 2 pax aboard... QF even phoned my mobile when we were en route from the lounge to the gate... whoops :p

Might be in there for a while around then - will look out for you. If anyone is able to guest me into the DJ lounge (for a 6pm flight), also please let me know - would be good to experience the place.

I have made it back to the Airport (soon to be no longer a) Hilton from the Holiday inn where 5* were still finishing dinner. Strange that the only drink consumed was water. ... and some people had doubles :!:

Great to catch up with everyone today and meet some new faces too. Hopefully we'll catch up again very soon!

Fabulous day all around, and a special thumbs up to Tommy in the First lounge. QF need more staff like him

I’d also like to say thanks for a great day and it was good to meet old friends and make new ones. Today has been pretty fun, and I can’t believe I’m still awake :)

He was pretty awesome!

I left the comment card in the MEL J lounge so hopefully he gets recognised.

I'm now back in Perth after a very enjoyable day; thank you all. I had a really good flight back from Melbourne to Perth on DJ (my 'protest' flight) with a comical approach to the usual penultimate announcement as the aircraft begins it's decent. I'm pretty sure it was one of the two male FAs who played someone called Mavis on the PA. I think I'm too young to know exactly who Mavis is but I got the impression she'd been famous in days gone past, perhaps as a TV character. Mavis, in an older lady-type tone, said things like 'Western Australia's strict quarantine requirements require you to put all vege tables . . . [two worlds]' and 'it's now time to turn off all your fang-dang electronic devices like your tip-tops and p3m players . . .' and 'if you need any help with disposing of your plants, seeds or fruits, please see the man standing next to the big bin making fruit salad'. Mavis finished with 'thanks for flying TAA, the friendly way'. Very humorous.

Anyway, there were a number of little highlights for me today: the 'declicate' calls of "Danger" across the JQ check-in; moving the very heavy 'Marc Newson designed' lounge chairs in the F Lounge; the special welcome onboard from the CSM that was organised by one the of attendees . . .

Very enjoyable. Thank you.

LOL - I suppose me yelling "Danger!" at the top of my voice while in a line with a bunch of ruffians was a bit silly!

And the Daisy chairs were "quite" heavy

Nice to have met you and the other new faces - I do hope a particular member who's name will remain secret got through immigration OK - there seemed to be a issue with a D sticker or lack of - hope it turned out well and you weren't detained to long fuzzyAUS... ooops

:)

This worked really well! A round trip for $3 instead of $30. But it takes 20mins longer each way and the bus stops more-or-less on the other side of the Tiger T4 check-in. And might be a problem with luggage.

Can someone remind me why I thought this was a good idea when I already had a paid-for ticket on the Skybus back home?:lol:

counting down the last 48 hours of anytime access :(

currently in the qantas T2 J lounge this morning enjoying my toast and pastries :)

The "Return" skybus ticket is really a "two Trip" ticket.

You can use it next time.

Thanks for a great day guys. Sorry if I might have seemed a little anti social at stages, I was fighting a terrible case of gastro (thanks kids ...) and there's no way I would done 3 flights in one day for any less of an occasion than this.

Quite a day: 3 flights, 5 lounges, 4 glasses of Bollinger, a glass of noble one, and many bourbons (although less than if i had been feeling sick), a good meal in SYD F and a muffin that made it all the way from the BNE J lounge to finally be consumed at the MEL J lounge.

Looking forward to the next one :)

LOL yes it did take about 15 mins, the dealt with a few international PAX first then us.. in the end they hand wrote "Dummy Domestic" on them :) and let us go.. we then walked over to the J lounge for a bit more time..

Heading for lunch now in Melbourne, then off to DFO Essendon for some work for an hour then back to the J lounge before heading back to Sydney..

PS am always happy to rearrange furniture to make things better for us :) just feel sorry for the lounge folks that need to put it back ( i generally put things back normally, but we needed to go get new boarding passes)

Good to see some old faces and new ones who made it to the MEL J lounge, and it was great to hear that all were looked after in the various lounges on the way. I hope everyone had a good time, perhaps we should look at having a true wake in a years time.....if they let us in either the QF or DJ lounges???

Hope you all got home safely or will be home safely soon!

To continue the theme (albeit remotely), I just dropped in the thew WLG International J lounge for a Crownie and a sandwich. Now posting from the Koru Lounge.;)

What a great day yesterday, the Qantas First lounge was good as usual, the Brisbane and Melbourne Qantas lounge staff were again good, beers were cold and good range of food.

Currently checking out the Canberra J lounge before the flight back to Brisbane on Virgin Blue in a few hours. Great to catch up with the regulars plus all the newbies.

What time does the bar open again.
