For all you good credit risks whose applications were rejected:

Maybe Card Services applies similar "logic" as shown in the WW EDR Mastercard application:
"If this application for credit is refused a reason will not be given unless the refusal is based on an adverse credit report."

Me and my sister applied and were both successful. It was about a 2 week window from application to the SMS asking for payslip, then cards arrived and activited.

Should hit $5k on both with the new iPad, and a holiday in April to kick the expenditure along.

Two lots of 35k points for $5k spend is not bad (70k/$10k). I wonder if they will do any targeted promos on these like the EDR cards, or whether it will be a completely usless post-May.

As with a few others here my 20,000 bonus points have posted.

Hit the $5000 mark about a week into the card so will be interesting to see how long that takes to post.

Not sure if i should keep it or revert back to my trusty WWEDRCC - not being able to change the pin has p1ssed me off TBH.

Psi, how long after you made your first purcahse did the 20,000 appear? Did it appear straight onto your QFF account or did it appear first on the jetstar banking website?

I made my first purcahse two weeks ago and no bonus points have appeared on the Jetstar Banking site.....I fear a phone call or 12 might be coming up...

I am in the same boat but am waiting for my first statement before making a phone call.

I am the same but only started use 9 March so will give it til end of month before I contact about the 20,000

Received text message on 14/3 asking for payslip, which I sent in the same day. Received a text from cardservices today asking for "paylip + proof of rental income (rental statement or lease agreement - if applicable) to [email protected]"

No where on the application form did I mention having rental income (I have some investment and interest income, but no property). What is the best way to proceed here? Is there a better a number to call than the 1300 150 100 general inquiries line?

From memory hadn't shown up on the JQ banking site (which is absolute cr@p may i add) when it appeared on QFF.

So how long did it take for your points to post on QF though? 1 week? 1 month?

Mum just applied last night. Damn application form is a PITA (how do you enter a street number for a hospital?)

She was a bit scared about the annual fee showing on the app, but I assured her that the promotion stands.

It's getting very close to the end of the month, so I wonder what would happen if she isn't contacted and/or approved by Mac Credit before the 31st? ("I refuse to take your promotional terms sitting down because you can't be bothered to pull your finger out and process my application?")

She's actually most scared of getting charged the annual fee if she isn't "approved in time" (i.e. if she is approved after the 31st, the "no fee for card" offer is no longer valid); second scare is spending $500 before the end of the month to get the 20k. (I told her in the latter case just to get a $500 gift card from Woolies, but she wasn't convinced).

Huh? Doesn't the first eligible purchase earn 20k and then $5000 by May 31 earns an additional 10k? Nothing about $500??

Nope.

When I applied I heard nothing (no confirmation email, no reference number or anything). Hadn't heard anything after a few days so called to see what was happening. Put on hold and then told I was just another reject.

'I'm sorry Sir, I cannot give you any further information'. I asked if there was any other information I could provide that might assist (as I hadn't been asked for pay slips or anything) and was told there was nothing I could do.

I've never been rejected over the last four years while I've been working.... My income is six figures so maybe I'm also in the 'too much income' bracket?

Also, I've not had a flurry of activity on my credit file that would make a credit provider wary. I also have quite a few cards that are all in perfect standing...

This is the most ridiculous thing ever - do they not want any customers???

I don't care anymore however as I've now got the CitiBusiness card so helloooooooo 1.25 points per dollar!!! (and the customer service can't be any worse than for the J* card by the sounds of it...)

Got rejected too :( and of course no reason given - referred to VEDA! Veda advised I have a right to know if the rejection was based on credit rating or not. Phoned CC call centre back - just got the standard line repeated, "we have no obligation to advise" however after repeating info from Veda, was advised "based on internal criteria - which we have no obligation to advise!".

Seeing my credit rating is "excellent" they must have some weird criteria - "oh no they earn too much money and they pay their credit cards off in full each month and have no debt ... reject reject reject!!!"
