Just noticed the second 15k QFF points appear today. Still waiting on the two QP passes to arrive though.

I got the two QP passes within two days of activating the card. Maybe because I told them to shove the card initially, after they told me I wasn't eligible for the 30k points and that I would have to change my QFF details to match their system rather than the other way around. They rang back after a day or two and literally begged me to activate the card if they sorted the issues out which they did.

Interesting. I was specifically told the passes are only sent out after the initial spend and then it takes four weeks.

Out of curiosity, when do the passes expire?
 
So after around 6 weeks I got a form letter saying I don't meet the criteria. Seriously... what a joke! If it was something to do with my credit file I would assume it would be an auto rejection, and I haven't been asked for any clarification on anything. I just think when I rang up and complained they decided it was easier to decline so they wouldn't have trouble when I asked for an extension on the $5k spend.

December from memory, I'd have to check. I also had the 30k points post to my QFF Account within 2 weeks of activation. I had done a balance transfer (which shouldn't be counted as eligible spend) and probably spent about $2k in eligible transactions so I'm buggered if I can work out why they gave me the 30k points so quick - not that I'm complaining.

Give them a ring and chase it up. The passes expire in December 2013 so I'd be demanding they be sent by express post (that's how they came to me)

You're supposed to get 15k points after the first spend and the other 15k points when you've spent $5k. They gave me the 30k points straight up without the qualifying spend. I'm waiting to see if I get another 15k points when I have spent $5k. Nothing would surprise me.

The balance transfer I did was typical of how unprofessional they are. Most companies would do the balance transfer by EFT. Not Macquarie Bank, the JQ card issuer. They posted me a handwritten cheque made out to the other card provider to deposit with them about three weeks after activating the card.

Given the delays in getting this card approved to people and acknowledged by the fact they extended the initial $5k spend out an extra month, I would expect at the very least to receive QP passes that expire no earlier than end of Jan 2014. If they delay and stuff around in getting them out, I would then expect and even longer expiry date.

I'm pretty sure also in the initial advertising that made the offer of the two QP passes, there was nothing to indicate a 4+ week delay in sending them out or them being contingent on a first spend either. Perhaps someone who still has a copy of the offer can confirm or deny this?
 
Ahh Macquarie, how you always lie to me.

Called up. First bloke I speak to tells me the QP passes are only sent out 60 days after the initial purchase. I quizzed him an expiry and he said 12 months from issue. He said this was all in the T&C. I called him a liar. Pretty sure T&C make no mention of 60 days to send the passes out and that it states the passes will expire Dec 2013. Also pointed out this directly contradicts the four weeks I was told when activating the card.

He points me through to a supervisor. She tells me I should receive it 30 days after my initial purchase. Again, pointed out this directly contradicts what her colleague told me not 2 minutes ago. She tells me he was looking at the wrong promotion. Yeah right!

So now says it will be "escalated". Not sure why she can't just arrange to send the passes out? She can't tell me when the passes will expire either.

Checked my mail box yesterday and there was two very thick black envelopes from Macquarie Bank. These envelopes contained the credit cards that I (and mrs smithy) applied for in late July??
I had given up on receiving the card and I was going to contact Macquarie Bank and have them remove their "inquiry" from my credit file.

Anyway, this morning I had to jump through hoops to get my card activated. Mrs Smithy did hers last night with a few less hoops to jump....LOL
To cut a long story short, my name on card application was different (slightly) to that on my QFF membership...WTF.

Once I had sorted tht bit, I was asked "do you want to take up the 2.99% balance transfer offer.."
I said "yes, I gave you all that information in the original application..."
I am put on hold (the second time) and she comes back with "oh yes, I see your request and we have done that for your mr smithy.....is there anything else I can hep you with today...."
I said "yes , due to lengthydelays in getting this card to me, I only have 20 days to qualify for 30K QFF points on offer"
She said she will send to me via email address the T&C template relating to the points offer but so far it has not arrived.

My question is, can any AFF member out there refresh my memory as to how I qualify for 30K QFF points?
I could not be bothered ringing them again.

Well they were slowish processing the card, BUT very quick with the points. I already have my 15K joining, and 15 K for spending $5k.
 
So just heard from the Australian call centre about my QP lounge passes. Apparently they were mailed to me on Sept 24, but since they haven't turned up they re-issued some passes and sent on Oct 11.

This is now the second bit of mail from these guys that has "gone missing". Bit suspicious if you ask me given I have had no issues with any other mail going missing.

Also, I was informed that the passes being sent out will expire end of December this year. As per usual, no responsibility taken for this and instead push the issue onto Qantas who issues the passes. Can't say I'm surprised. Strangely enough, had a similar issue with my QP passes not turning up with the Macquarie Platinum card and they needed to re-send too. Seems a bit "convenient" to me.

Make sure your QFF account details are correct or else they won't post your points each month. your digs and threaten to cancel the card if they try to tell you that you need to contact Qantas and change the details to match theirs.

Regarding qualifying spend, it is 15k points on your first spend, and a further 15k points after you've spent $5k on the card. Balance transfers don't count towards the total. having said that, I received the full 30k points within a week of activating the card.

I was pleasantly surprised to receive my passes this week with an expiry of December 2014. The printed card they were attached to stated a Dec 2013 expiry. Colour me very surprised. I didn't even have to ask for them.
 
I think it has now expired (but could be wrong). New promotion of 20,000 points can be found at Frequent Flyer - Member Specials - Pay

I think so too. Though this promo (above) has another 10k+10k for a total of 40k bonus points (with a $5k spend).
All the links I have clicked for the club jetstar offer with half price annual fee have no sign up bonus. Is this other peoples experience?

The 40000 points for $149 comes out at 0.37cpp which is still pretty good - but would love to get both!

How often have these offers been changing i.e. is it worth hanging on a little longer to see if the club jetstar offer comes through with the goods?
