US Dividend Miles - Award Booking Questions and General Discussion

What ?????

Well CX doesn't offer anything that QF, BA and JL don't already. And it would not be sensible to look for CX award seats using the CX engine as you will not get a true indication of what may be available to partners.

I must have read it wrong.

"I could see two J seats out of Sydney to Milan on CX for a couple of days at the end of January"

What I meant was I could see two CX seats available for an award redemption. I did not say I saw them on the CX website because as it has many times been written here the CX website does not reflect the true availability of seats offered to its partners.
I use AwardNexus. Also, I have found that JAL Mileage Bank is a good source of reconfirming CX seats availability. However, there have recently been reports that when JAL shows no seats available, USDM agents could see seats so I would not be 100% relying on JAL

I've also had issues where I see CX seats on JAL but USDM can't find them. I found BA to be the best indicator for CX seats. Also noticed that what JAL sees in it's own search engine, USDM and BA can see.

Isn't this contradictory!? I think the truth is that no one source out of BA, QF and JL can be considered the 'most accurate' for CX...results vary totally from booking to booking.

I meant what I see for JAL for it's own metal, partners can see - unlike CX for CX metal and QF for QF metal.

Right. JL typically underestimates CX availability. The only flipside is that of the availability it does show, it is actually correct and bookable.

BA will show more availability most of the time but it can also show phantom space. That is why if it appears on BA but not JL, take it as a chance - it may or may not be bookable, but if you need or want that flight, give it a shot.

Has anyone yet to ever find space between BKK-DOH? on QR F? or is QR not releasing F space on this route?

We're talking F for BKK-DOH, not DOH-LHR/CDG - which is also only available on the A330 (?) in First Class.

A380 only available in C for now. What dates did you find awards available?

I must have misunderstood your sentence. Your sentence suggests that all F space on routes that operate the A380 are blocked by QR. I haven't found space on the QR A380 from BKK-DOH or on the return leg. Most dates showed availability for C as you have mentioned by nothing for F.

I'm very sorry for my bad english  You have understood me correct - all F space on routes that operate the A380 on QR are blocked for now. LHR/CDG/BKK-DOH and return.

If you were able to find dates on the a380 in F that would be great news and i'd appreciate the info.

This afternoon my son did a PER-MEL-PER in business class with Qantas for 30,000 US airmiles and $24 US.

I have booked f on qr in and out of cdg on the a380 to Doha. It was booked close to 330 days out and I will be flying end of May. I have tried a number of times to change these flights since and there has not been any f seats available. Maybe in the last few months there has been a change in the number of seats released. I don't know.
