US Dividend Miles - Award Booking Questions and General Discussion

Aha! So I went to the pre-order meals screen...which offers the ticket number option to look up the booking.

Pre-order Inflight Meal Page

I used the new ticket numbers shown by US (dropping the last character) and it did successfully pull up the booking!

I'll assume I'm in the clear!

yup that was one of the links I referred to above - wasn't working for me at the time - but now does!

odd that the booking retrieved on that screen (either by PNR or ticket number) doesn't show ticket numbers, but the check booking screen does...

Thanks to you guys for the last page or so about finding the booking on TG :)

I've just booked the 10th () MEL-CAN-BKK-CAN-MEL trip in 10 months for the boss. Leaving this Friday. We've really appreciated USAir and am going to miss them!

Question regarding SQ availability.... I thought there was availability 2 weeks out between AUS/SIN but not seeing anything at all on awardtravelr... ??

P.S Who has taken all the nice availability to GUM over easter! ;)

Well aware of CNY... Boss is leaving today for one last trip there before the country shuts down! :)

But considering there is no SQ award space at all in the next few weeks using Awardtravelr/UA would not be related. I don't mind so much SQ not having availability a long way out but they're hardly part of *A if they carry on like this.

Well truth be told I already have a GUM trip booked over Easter with the wife. However I just don't know if I can afford to take the time off... It is on SQ though...

SQ have been doing this for ages with their F class. (Yes AV LM could skirt this for a while, but not so much any more)

Even their long haul J was not on the market for a while, except for the same noted exception.

Still, maybe in a tighter move than their 14 day "policy", they've taken most availability off *A for their members. With CNY around and particularly in February with uni students moving from abroad to Australia and what not, I suspect the SQ flights should be fairly full, and maybe they're leaving those award seats for their KF members only. (Might be an idea to jump onto KF and get a feeling of what their availability is).

After March, I'd like to think that "things will be back to normal".

I don't believe LM has ever offered SQ F other than very, very few short haul intra Asia routes.

Not sure if things will be back to normal... but to me it would appear SQ are just not releasing anything to *A partners at the moment.

FWIW, just check in my Krisflyer account and availability is tight but is there over Easter. MEL-SIN-NRT at standard level A380/777ER but wait list's for anything saver.

Admittedly, I haven't kept up to date with this thread, but I received another 100% offer and am contemplating another purchase.

I seem to have missed something important and have gone back about 20 pages looking for answers. Ummmm, can someone tell me what has happened to the award booking engine please? When I try to enter MEL as origin or destination, it only comes up with MLB. When I tell it I'm looking for an airport in Australia, the only airport listed is ASP.

Am I on the wrong site for bookings now or is there some kind of trick I need to do to get the site to work?

Which award booking engine?

You can book US Airways Dividend Miles awards online on the US Airways website, but they're mostly limited to awards operated by US Airways only. For Star Alliance partners, bookings must be done on the phone.

And only just recently, American Airlines.

Sorry for the double post - for some reason at the moment, Edit Post is not working for me....

Of course you can only book via phone. I don't know what the heck I was thinking. Spent too much time on LM I guess. D'oh

Another general question - I want to go to Europe (F) just after Christmas 2014. The outbound dates will be open soon however I plan on staying for ~2 weeks.

Is there any way to hold the booking when the outbound seats are released so that they don't get taken when the inbound get released?

Or can I make the booking then make changes to add the return leg once they are open?
