I should have tried TG first and see if I was in luck. I did not know so I accepted the J seats offered by USDM. Now, I will keep my fingers crossed that F seats will open up for the new flight and ask USDM to change at the cost of $150 each.

If they forced you to J from F, I would ask that the change fee is waved if F does pop up.

as I said in my post... it will be a free of charge change (no $150) since it was an involuntary change to your itinerary forcing the downgrade. they will be able to trace that through the history of the booking.

award visibility for ANA through USDM can be patchy... air Japan flights are not bookable, and mainline flights can sometimes be unavailable for no apparent reason. this has been going on since at least 2011.

strange... had no trouble booking with ANA in january flew SEA-NRT-PEK with them in J on 787 twice... i will try and come up with a trip that doesn't include ANA i guess ;/

Advice pls - had MEL-BKK J booked Mar 25 - but TG cancelled early flt and shunted me onto later flt - that does not suit.

Used UA site to check Award availability - MEL-BKK 24th and 26th shows MEL-BKK J available but connection to MNL shows Y only - search of TG site shows I can purchase J flt - how to proceed pls? Really prefer J if can secure.

Although slightly inconvenient, what about BKK-TPE-MNL or BKK-SIN-MNL?

Alternatively, you could exploit the late flight and try BKK-ICN-MNL or BKK-NRT-MNL.

just got off the phone with USDM again, gave them over 10 different NH flight numbers ex Tokyo... none of them came up on their system or they came up but no availability... even though beta award is showing that they are

TG F availability syd-bkk-nrt has dried up for march / april. Must be all the GUM runs ..

i dunno the exact dates but didn't TG pull one of their a380s off NRT? Cutting F class capacity in half? If that's the case I'd suspect any remaining seats would be for revenue sale.

and there's nothing on Air China? They've usually got really good availability. Likewise OZ (both of whom I've had to take when NH has come back unavailable)

you're lucky they're allowing you 5 sectors as it is. 4 is safer. Might have to suck up Y for the short flight.

2x J with Eva air royal laurel 77W one leg, how good is the lounge at BKK is it worth 4 hours of hells on an Air China 321 in Y??

This happened yesterday to us also. Got an email from USDM about schedule change. Frantically tried to re-org our flights. They automatically booked us on to a later flight which would arrive 2 hours after our connecting flight! I also saw another thread in the LM redemption program that TG changed the late afternoon flight SYD_BKK to an early morning one, and similar thread in FlyerTalk. Now we have been downgraded from F to J and will have 9 hours to kill in BKK. Not happy with TG at all.

i wouldn't be hanging out to spend too much time on royal laurel.

i flew it from TPE-JFK the food wasn't amazing but everything else was... including the bottle of Dom i drank by myself...

i know they cut back a bit for the short haul flights but its still a lie flat

back to the drawing board... the annoying thing is I want to take NH905 which i flew bloody 3 weeks ago and now USDM is saying they can't find that flight number... complete BS
