US Dividend Miles - Award Booking Questions and General Discussion

Re: US Dividend Miles Buy/Gift Miles 100% bonus - Cheap way for F/J *A Awards

back to the drawing board... the annoying thing is I want to take NH905 which i flew bloody 3 weeks ago and now USDM is saying they can't find that flight number... complete BS

I've had exactly the same thing... same day of the week, same time of the year, same NH flight number... USDM could see one but could not see another. This is not new.

Re: US Dividend Miles Buy/Gift Miles 100% bonus - Cheap way for F/J *A Awards

seriously ****ing me hard at the moment.... i need a direct flight from tokyo to hkg or pek that isn't in Y - not doing Y... never ever again

Don't get too upset about it, it's only a 4 hour flight. If you can't find any availability in J then have a few drinks in the lounge in NRT and you will be fine ;)

Question for TG experts...

Do all of TG's 744s with 9 seats in F feature the suites product -----or do some still bear the old recliners?

thanks

Suites.

IIRC the old F product has 10 seat cabin.

The 10F cabin does not have recliners either...they are full flat beds.

Only the 14F cabin features retro recliners...and I believe there is 1 747 still in existence with this...you'd have to be VERY unlucky...not just TG unlucky!

even the 14 F was still full flat (albeit arranged in pairs). you'd need to go to the 16 (or was it 18) F for recliners... (last time I had one of those was in something like 2004!)

generally no. your flight must be departing same day in the eligible class for which you are seeking lounge access.

there are a couple of exceptions... if you fly LH/LX/OS Y (or C) connecting to LH/LX F you can use the FCLs. there may be some others... it will depend on your itinerary.

but if you are asking if say air china Y connecting to TG F will give you access the answer is no.

Stayed at Novotel last week 12 hour deal from 6am-6pm for just under $100. Booked on their Web using the free Wifi in airport as calling them they quoted more being the same time. I rang them after the booking and checked they had it and they asked how long before I arrive and I said I am at checkin lol

No. With OneWorld you could (same day travel)...but Star has no such rule. If both flights are on the same airline you might have some success talking your way in.

Re: US Dividend Miles Buy/Gift Miles 100% bonus - Cheap way for F/J *A Awards

Although slightly inconvenient, what about BKK-TPE-MNL or BKK-SIN-MNL?

Alternatively, you could exploit the late flight and try BKK-ICN-MNL or BKK-NRT-MNL.
Unfortunately the timing does not permit - is it at all poss to go with Y in a booking and have USDM note request J if becomes available? Or am I dreaming?

I think your dreaming. :)

However you could book with the Y segment and then change ($150USD) to J if available...

You have the definition of first world problems lol!

so true lol! trying to take it to the next level with this trip haha - i'll post it in the successful bookings thread soon :D (hopefully)

Re: US Dividend Miles Buy/Gift Miles 100% bonus - Cheap way for F/J *A Awards

again...it varies. but as an example, domestic QF Y connecting to QF F will get access to business lounge at domestic airports.

oneworld also has the long haul to short haul connecting rule.

but if you were connecting short haul to short haul...and your next onward flight is not in a premium cabin, I would not expect access.

traditionally, TG releases a total of two seats at a time, and continues to display 2 seats available, until the initial allocation is exhausted 9this may be 4 seats in F and 8 seats in J, or whatever they decide when the flight is released).

after that time, additional seats may be released on an ad hoc basis.

but if the seats are not there now, then you can't assume anything else will come.

When I've been using KVS mobile tool recently though I've seen lots of TG flights showing things like O4 and I9...but the KVS tool itself doesn't match up. I wonder if it's a sign you could grab 2 and immediately get another 2 F...and then all the allocation is gone?
