US Dividend Miles - Award Booking Questions and General Discussion

So I contacted TG and was advised:

1) I only need the ticket issuing airline's e-ticket number;
2) Incorrect DOB information in reservation doesn't matter (it will be corrected when you check-in).

I still asked the Rep for TG's e-ticket number, just in case.

TG is correct. there is only one ticket number, this is issued by USDM and is effective for all airlines in your itinerary.

provided TG had the US Airways ticket number then you are good to go.

continue to monitor your flights on a regular basis to ensure there are no schedule changes. you will not be proactively notified of these by USDM.

Although with the new TG system you can also retrieve your booking on the .com site by entering your ticket number (not the .au site)

I'm confused! The other day I went to thaiairways.com and there was a whole new web site (a lot more white)...although I still couldn't find a check booking via ticket number option.

Today I look at thaiairways.com and I think I'm seeing the old, much more purple, website again?

How can I find this check by ticket number option?

thaiairways.com -> check booking -> PNR/Surname

that now brings up the booking including e-ticket numbers.

or you can go to thaiairways.com -> thai services (right at the top of the page) -> first/buisiness class pre-order -> PNR or ticket number - but the ticket number option seems to return a 'sorry, service not available' message. maybe limited to TG ticket numbers?

MEL_Traveller is right. There is only one e-ticket number (the one that US Airways issued you) - all you are checking with each respective airline is that they have this ticket number in their system (i.e. they have a booking for you which is attached to this e-ticket).

Different carriers can have different PNRs (passenger name records, the six letter booking codes) for the same booking which references different subsets of flights, but they will all reference the same underlying e-ticket.

Oh, I thought you mean you could execute the query using the ticket number...a la Saudia.

The reason I asked is because I have a US issued TG itin...and neither the TG website, nor checkmytrip show ticket numbers against the travellers...but the TG agent in Sydney has confirmed they can see them. Since then the ticket has been re-issued and I suppose I should now check they've had the new ticket numbers pushed through.

the option is there but it doesn't seem to work, at least i can't get it to.

but you can view the ticket numbers via the other method including the individual ticket numbers for each party flying.

But like I said...I see no ticket numbers...on CMT for example when I expand each party I just see:

Baggage Policy: https://bags.amadeus.com

And on the TG website I see passport details etc but no ticket numbers.

But TG do have them and can read them back to me.

with the TG check booking option the ticket numbers are at the top of the page... a couple lines down, before it lists the flights.

Same for me with a USDM booking, including the phone agents reading me out the 037 e-ticket numbers.

With an Avianca LifeMiles booking I can see the e-ticket numbers on Thai's website (using PNR to access) and Check My Trip. With the Avianca booking, my PNR is the same for both Avianca and Thai as they appear to be hosted in Amadeus. US is not on Amadeus, although I don't know if that is the problem as I can see my e-ticket numbers on Aegean's website for the US booking and they also appear to be on Amadeus.

I know! All I'm saying is they are not there...but TG does have them! So this method is not full proof.

ok got you now. they are there for my booking so as you say must be slightly random. There are no passport details on my screen for TG!

Not sure if this is relevant for you. When you booked with US, they should give you both their booking / confirmation codes and those for TG. Now TG has got a new res system, so you will need to contact TG for their new confirmation code, then you can retrieve your booking. I have had to do this for ours.

Yes agreed, US no longer gets positive feedback from TG when they make the booking, the last agent I spoke to was quite concerned about it but I assured her it was the new normal for TG.

So I called TG to get the 1A reference...at the same time checking for ticket numbers, which they confirmed they had...but are not visible on any of the amadeus lookup sites / TG site.

just to confirm you haven't made any flight changes to your itinerary? (this happened to a friend of mine and although TG had the ticket numbers they had them for the old flights, not the new ones. thankfully caught just in time two days before departure)

Yes I have, which was the whole point of asking if I could query by ticket number!

Now because I can't see the ticket numbers online I will have to call and check they have the new ones.

sorry. I'm o viciously a bit vague this morning.

my friend had confirmed with TG on at least two occasions and they confirmed ticket numbers... but in the end USDM hadn't reissued the tickets and TG was reading off the o,d ticket numbers associated with the old booking. it was clearly a USDM fault for not pushing it through, but thankfully TG didn't auto cancel.

it took several calls for my friend (although they were totally a novice at USDM bookings) to get USDM to understand the issue (no flights but no ticket).

I did not ask for ticket number, instead I gave TG the "old" booking reference which US gave me, and TG gave me the "new" booking reference from their new reservation system. I put it in TG website to check all our flights are there. I also check the booking reference in US website.

My TG booking reference did not change when the tickets were reissued...I wouldn't expect it to as both the original booking and the change were made using the new system.

Seeing its all TG today I'd like to ask how I book my seat or do I have to wait till 24 hours before? I've got the reservation code and can see the booking but cant find the "SEAT" button or whatever
