I believe it's non stop. FYI a 'direct flight' can have stops as long as it keeps the same flight number.

LOL

All these years of flying and I thought "direct" meant the plain old English meaning, not airline meaning

I just checked flightaware and I can see a Korean Airlines 777 enroute from JFK to ICN so hopefully Asiana replicate this for what I think would be a premium route

Thanks to all re: BKK transits/PDT. My last two BKK transits (including an overnight and a 7.5hr transit) where I left the airport and returned, there was no mention of the PDT so I was lucky. I guess technically one could be charged, YMMV, and if requested to do so, should just fork up the PDT (700BHT). It's for my girlfriend and her friend who are travelling in two weeks time and I need to make sure what the actual rules are. They are flying on US awards, and I am on some OW product ;) where I am meeting up with them in BKK for the overnight transit.

I am looking at availability next April and cant see any business at all on Thai A380 to Frankfurt. Have they tightened their availability as well now or am I still too early for Mid April?

might be too early. I'd check 330 days out if there is nothing now.

Hi Mel,

Thanks for that will do. I did have a look for March and Feb and couldnt find any seats on the new A380 in Business so hope thye are not excluding that from their availability:(
I am heading to Athens from Perth and as there are 4 of us am struggling to get flights out of Perth. I am hoping I can get PER-BKK-FRA-IST-ATH return :)

Excellent Oneworld when are u heading off?

30th June.
SYD-BKK (TG F)
BKK-FRA (TG F)
FRA-BUD (LH J)

Return is the same + 3 days in BKK.

Yes he's done some great trip report. I'll be onboard TG476 in F one July 6th. Looking forward to it :)

Yes, it should be good. I can't wait either.
I'll take a few pictures, but l think that TR that Dazza81 has done is pretty thorough.

OT; When l was looking at the options, MEL_Traveller pretty much tipped me in favour of fly in F, rather than in J, so l really do have to thank him for that.

With Thai I have had it work a few times where I have put 2 seats on hold in Business Class, waited maybe half an hour or up to a day and they will have released another 2 seats, so then call back up and lock in the 4 seats.

Not sure if talking to me but I have (hopefully) BKK-CDG in suites for the two of us.

LH F FRA-ICN as well for FCT. But most likely on an older aircraft.

Answer - Yes. :D

I've been allocated 1A on all my TG flights. Wondering if l should switch to 2A because on the 747, the front cupboard gets used a bit.

lol. That's just rubbish put out by people who want to keep 1A for themselves!! :p The cupboard is sometimes used before and after flight, and maybe once or twice during flight (IF that). And the seat is far enough away on TG anyway (especially if 10F config).

besides, 1A you get to see 'forward' from the aircraft, and can see the runway dead straight ahead when you come in to land. Which is spectacular at night.

l'll see what its like on the way out, l can always change on the return, BKK-SYD 747.
FRA-BKK, in the 777 suite, l don't think it makes that much difference where you sit.

(These are the first world problems l like (love actually))
