bkk to bcn march 17

bcn to lhr march 21

lhr to bkk march 27

BKK to bcn how? Because TG doesn't fly that route. If it's via SIN on the SQ Bcn flight then that wouldn't be bookable on US but might show up on LM.

I was on 472 on Sat 25th which they canned, have us now on 476, means a night before in Syd but more time in the F Lounge in BKK :)

Yes, I've been telling Jnr that it will work in her favour because she LOVES massages.

Re: US Dividend Miles - post your SUCCESSFUL award bookings here.

OH

so if I tried BKK - LHR - BCN - BKK that might work?

Or I might just have to try SIN BCN LHR SIN??

The second one will never work with US...like most star alliance programs the SQ 77W and A380 aren't bookable in J and F.

HHMM

SO THINKING BKK MAD LHR BKK might have a better chance of success.

seems I should be able to do MAD BCN cheap flight return

There aren't any *A flights between MAD & LHR so that would need some connecting flights. However MAD is not a *A hub so it's possibly not a valid stopover - it might be accepted as it is a US Airways destination - might.

Insert another *A hub between BKK and MAD.

Try FRA, ZRH, BRU (mainly J only on TG) or IST (if you're composing a J award).

You'll need to do the same to get back from BCN or MAD to LHR, since there is no non-stop flight from Spain to the UK on a *A airline. One idea may be to try going via LIS (i.e. on TAP Portugal).

As others have mentioned, SQ J and F awards on the 77W or 388 aircraft are nigh impossible on US DM and many other *A FFPs. LM has a few cracks in it and people are taking advantage now. But to use your US DM points you'll just have to live with that "restriction". So for US DM basically unless it's an old SQ 772 or regional SQ, stop looking for SQ options and consider the other airlines.

If BKK doesn't have many options, try going via ICN onto FRA etc. (on Asiana). Also note that BKK/CDG, though with not many easy connections on *A from CDG, is well known to have decent availability on TG's 388s, including F.

Interesting that it's a tiered bonus this time, much more like the way other airlines do it.

Looks like it is open to all as well, as it's listed on their website: https://membership.usairways.com/en-US/dividendmiles/programdetails/purchasemiles/default.html

Have I missed something? I know they are merging with AA but why can't you book anything after October??

yeah... something about LH and UA not available for booking after October.

Re: US Dividend Miles - post your SUCCESSFUL award bookings here.

so what is everyone's thoughts - what are these points going to transfer to AA as - why buy when you can't book and why buy when you don't know what it is "worth" in the new system - might as well toss a bloody coin and heads buy tails don't. Very frustrating to have over 100,000 points and not sure if they worth what was originally paid.

its in the public record that points will transfer on a 1-1 basis to aadvantage.

i think award levels are probably likely to stay the same... they are competitively priced with UA which and I can't see that changing too much or too many people might jump ship.

only problem will be availability in oneworld F.

Do you have a link for this? Also, if you book *A flights (not LH/ UA) beyond October 2013, what happens to your points if you need to cancel?

Wouldn't they be AA's award levels, thus there will be some slight variations?

They have stated they are looking to align the two schemes, what we don't know if it means just take one scheme and move the others to the same T&C's, take the best of each, take the worst of each. Frankly I don't really think we can make any calls until we see what they announce. Taking AA's award levels is certainly one option but I don't think it should be assumed this is the only option they are considering or indeed the preferred option.

Re: US Dividend Miles - post your SUCCESSFUL award bookings here.

Well that sucks, i was thinking of booking an LH flight down to South America mid next year.....

So you can't fly with LH after October or can't book with them after October???

they will be returned to you as pints under the new scheme. so AA miles.

i didn't have a link... I think it is in the AA website or something with an interview with the CEO or whatever.

AA or USDM, they're both competitive. so pretty much same same whether they adopt either one or a hybrid.

put it this way... we're not gonna end up with a qf redemption chart. aa will HAVE to remain competitive with UA or former USDMs will jump ship.

They have stated they are looking to align the two schemes, what we don't know if it means just take one scheme and move the others to the same T&C's, take the best of each, take the worst of each. we do have a fairly good idea. there is still speculation around how they are going to treat million miler status etc for those transferring from USDM. and what perks and benefits top tier elites will get. but if you are just a regular member I don't think there will be too many surprises.

there are hundreds of pages of discussion about the merger.

Well that sucks, i was thinking of booking an LH flight down to South America mid next year.....

cant book.

if you have an existing booking for next year that is obviously honoured. but you can't make any new bookings now.

Re: US Dividend Miles - post your SUCCESSFUL award bookings here.

Hmmm, sounds like the sooner you can book a redemption for next year the better in terms of number if airlines still being bookable, but its to early to book for mid next year...

Does no LH mean also no LX and all the rest of the group??
