You sir are my hero....almost EXACTLY the routing I am after (in J).

Any trouble in getting this? What airlines?

no trouble at all, in fact the only trouble I had was that the agent could not see LH F availability which ANA tool showed. So had to route through zrh & cdg on the way back.

Apart from that it was smooth sailing.... all done in the one call.

The airlines involved
ewr-zrh - UA F
zrh-del - LX new F
del-bkk-syd-bkk - TG F
bkk-cdg - TG F suites
cdf-ewr - CO business first.

Well played sir. I wonder if it's still possible to book Australia-US-Europe may just have to give it a shot.

Also, do we know of a timeline for how long TG will be operating the suites on BKK-CDG yet?

You could try, the agents will book you itinerary regardless, its only when the booking is sent for pricing the validity of the routing is determined.

AFAIK TG has the suites at least until end of this year.

Has anyone had any luck gifting miles and getting the bonus over the 50,000 allowed when you buy during this current promotion (Buy 50,000 get 50,000 bonus then get somebody to gift you 10,000 and get another 10,000 bonus).:?:

Had a look at this Shane but I don't see how we (Australians) can benefit much from it? Care to elaborate on your research?

Sorry Mrmaxwell! Asking the same question, had the edit window open when I got distracted doing some actual work so didn't see your post before I submitted mine.

many things, such as the US Airways tool bar (where you get one point per three searches) are only available to US residents. You gotta read the fine print :)

That may be what is says but many comments on FT indicate thats not what actually happens, i.e. non US residents have actually got the miles.

Why are the same amount of miles needed for South Pacific to South/Central Asia and North Asia?

SYD-ALA (Kazakhstan 7078 miles) or SYD-DPS (Bali 2871 miles) both same mile redemption.

I guess if US were on the ball this thread wouldn't even exist so...

well for a start the only way to get to Bali would be syd-sin-dps... that brings the distance to 4944 miles...

as with any frequent flyer programme you win some and you lose some... with AA for example you can fly from china to Australia in business class on cx/qf for 35k. but the same flight time akl-lax of qf (redeeming AA miles) costs you 62.5k

Per Seatguru, 11K is marked red. I am only guessing but the curvature of the plane that forward makes the space seem less? And I am guessing that headroom may also be slightly reduced? Paging dajop who is more intuned with SQ products.
OK. So there is such a thing as a bad business class seat. Can't sit at a window seat without a window.

I guess 14A or 15A will have to do since 17A and 17K are taken.

Well we still can join all the hotel and car rental programs which I have done. I have registered for the E miles and e rewards , audience rewards . From reading we also can pay for a shuttle bus ticket we don't need to be on. We also can order a pizza online and sent it to a fire station or charity.

It doesn't hurt to try and I'm going to give it a shot I have asked in FT we see what the pros say

It's because US awards are zone to zone awards versus point to point awards like QF does. And because a zone will have multiple countries, some destinations will be closer/further than others yet command the same amount of points because of being in the same zone. SQ, like many ff programs, also uses zone awards and for example, Australia to Athens cost the same as Australia to Amsterdam, and Amsterdam is like 2.5 hours further than ATH.

does anyone have a link to the award chart so we dont have to keep going back all the time. Im looking for it now and cant find it. I also have received a PM on FT who has a valid name and address and is happy for us to send her stuff so we can take part in the GS

After reading the first half of this thread my head is spinning! And I thought I knew something about travel!!!

So... a quick question for clarification... I'd ideally like to do OZ-USA(stop)-Europe(dest)-USA-Oz but that seemingly isn't allowed any more/wasn't ever possible..

So... in order to achieve a Europe stop on the same trip but AFTER the US visit I'd need to do an open jaw Oz-USA//Europe-Oz.. which was suggested on about page 25 or so as viable and at the 120k level...

Is that correct? THANKYOU!!! ;)

Hi guys,
This forum is so interesting and first a big thanks to all the contributors for sharing their time, generosity and commitment to help everyone get a good deal on the DM promo.
Reading this I have learnt so much about how to get into this promo, and getting over my fears that this is too good to be true.

It is also hard to discuss this with friends who look at you with "it can't be true - what mad hatter deal are you talking about...", well hopefully I can come back from a trip on F with pics to shock them.

So just a thanks for a good job everyione!!

I am still figuring out what to do with this, and will continue to read your posts with interest.
I am thinking SYD-ICN-NRT and back, or out of interest - has anyone heard of SYD-ICN-NYC and back being tried?

Cheers
Bob

there shouldn't be any problems with either of those routings subject to getting availability on the ICN-NYC leg.
