once you log in to points.com there is a section where you register your frequent flyer and hotel program accounts. Its sort of like a central place where you can register everything. To register your US airways account you simply add you Dividend miles number in the box.
I am not sure I like to register in this way. I don't want a central place for anything. I can control my own accounts.

It would appear though that US Airways have taken this path for bonus points. Not sure why....

You're not losing control over your account via the usual channel at US airways. This is just a place where you register your accounts and can then do things with them if you choose - for example you can swap miles between programs (at a not very good rate, but obviously useful to some people). All transactions for buying US airways miles are conducted by points.com anyway.

The miles have now hit my US Airways account via SPG :D Just need to wait a few weeks for the bonus to post.
Ditto...the sweep by US Airways must be done at set intervals as the spg points seem to have hit my US Airways account at the same time as you. As the date requested and the date deposited falls within the US Airways Ts and Cs, I feel confident we should get the 50% bonus within the stated 6-8 week time frame;)

I understand you are entitled to either one stopover (at a *A hub city) or an open jaw provided the unflown open jaw segment is shorter than the other legs. Does this include open jaws in the form (for example):

MEL - BKK - SYD?

Yes that is valid.

What are some routes that LX F is readily available on?

I'm having a hard time finding F availability around Nov (HKG-ZRH/BKK-ZRH/ZRH-JFK/GVA-JFK). I am looking at SYD-FRA or SYD-JFK via Europe.

PEK-ZRH (a new service) is fairly open I believe. remember to look for one more seat than you need if using a tool like ANA (so if you need 1 seat, search for 2, if you need 2, search for 3)

Why is that?

I bought some miles, points didn't post immediately. I gifted some miles (to just test the instantaneous points delivery theory) and points didn't post immediately. So now I will be sitting tight, 150miles short of 300K, to finalise the on-hold bookings from last night.

Once miles have been purchased on US Airways, how long are they taking to hit the account?
I purchased last time there was a promo, and it was instant.

The points landed in my account this morning.
From time of purchase, took ~26 hours to landed in my account.
Still waiting on the 1/2 'bonus' points to arrive.

Generally the Asian routes are pretty good on LX F for availability, though the toughest are NRT and HKG. I've found space going to BKK and PEK (the latter is a new route), though do note that I flew LX F ex-ZRH; no idea what availability is like going to ZRH.

Trans-Atlantic options are a general PITA for LX F, with LX having smarted up against the USA (for namesake reasons). It has been claimed that there is reasonable availability of LX F on flights to/from YYZ.

The LX 333 aircraft feature their newest F product. For this reason, expect availability on routes operated with these aircraft to be thinner than a runway model.

How many days out does LX become visible? I can't seem to find much, let alone LH. SQ (J/F) is pretty much non-existent.

Alan, that booking you made, how far out were the dates?

Lots of reports of non-instant posting over the last few days. According to the T&Cs the bonus points will not post before Apr 15...well that's the way I read them anyhoo.

In fact its quite clear that they say the bonus points will be posted to your account by either 1 June (points.com site) or by 5th june (US airways site)

No restriction on LX availability. Although some might open up closer to departure. Otherwise if it's gone it's gone. (even if you do find it there is no guarantee US can see it)

On searching for flights.

ANA Mileage, you have to put in each sector and do it the long way
United, start and end, and it fills in the gaps for you.

Using United's search tool, Turkish and Austrian J options appear that don't pop up on ANA's searches.

Haven't used Air Canada's tool yet.

I have found that the ANA tool offers the best range of options but I think the best way with every tool is to consider each segment individually. So for example if you want to fly MEL - BKK - FCO then don't search for MEL - FCO, instead first search MEL - BKK and then when you have found a flight search BKK - FCO for flights that you can connect to.

True - but ANA is still considered as being one of the most accurate. Air Canada's one can give some way out routings that most likely won't be allowed by US in any event. One example SYD-SIN (in F) was SYD-BKK-CGK-SIN. On TG F/TG C and SQ F. Can't see US allowing that.

Its a June departure, return for November.

I miscalculated various points transfers to US and ended up 150 miles short of 300K. I bought some points, yes 2 x $35 for 1,000 [one purchase, one gifting], as I just wanted the points to be there instantly and get the bookings booked. Now I have to wait until the points touch down into the account unless my 150 SPG point to US transfer beats it there LOL
