Hmmm, knew how to use the ANA site to search for flights when in *A, but haven't really tried since the OW transition... Signed up for JAL membership tonight but didn't have much luck finding where to go and search for availability... Seems people also say BA is good for seeing all OW airlines, do you have to sign up for a membership in whatever the FF scheme is???
Yes, BA Executive Club it is. It's free but won't accept anyone with an Australian address so make up a UK one. All you need is the number they will assign electronically. If you need to get a plastic card then you'll need a valid UK address because this is where they will send it. Most people don't need it so Royal Apartments, Buckingham Palace will do :)
Their search engine isn't that great giving only a week's availability and showing phantom CX seats but in combination with JAL and Qantas you'll be all set

has anyone been issued an STCP with QR for a transit of >8hr using USDM award flights?

Joined USDM program last month, from what I see when looking for OneWorld airlines flights, this can only be done by searching other airline sites then calling once award flights are found?.

The max No. of miles purchase in any one year is 80K? if another 40K is required a partner could transfer them over for a fee?.

You can buy as many as you like. No annual limits

That's correct.

You can search for US Airways own flights on their website as well

I will be in SPU (Split, Croatia) next year and wanted to go from there to HKG, utilising a CX F flight. Can someone help me identify what cities close to SPU do CX operate a F cabin from?

MXP and FCO.

I understand these two cities usually have better CX F availability than LHR, CDG, FRA etc anyway.

Off the top of my head (without verification), LHR, FRA and CDG to start with.

Not every flight may have F on it. If flying out of LHR, you might be better off flying from a secondary dummy airport to swallow up the APD.

Closest is probably MXP-HKG. Its operated with a 777-300ER with First, whereas Rome is an A340 without.

Thanks for the suggestions. I thought it might have been MXP which is great as I have never been to MXP, now I can tick off that city plus a flight in CX F :)

Does anyone know when QR release their seats for USDM or how often they're updated in the reservation system? US currently can't see past 336 days - I'm trying to book flight past 336 days but between 340 days but no luck as they can't see the flight.

I think you just answered your own question. If they cannot see more than 336 out then I would assume that this is the limit.

yes - I understand that - but do the seats automatically get updated the next day or are they updated on another timeframe (ie weekly) -which was also another part of my question : )

I think the x your using is just for a transit? Then it's fine. Only thing is taxes will be high in business or first due to high APD departing from the UK. If you're going elsewhere in the EU might be better to return from say CDG, AMS or FRA...
