US Dividend Miles - post your SUCCESSFUL award bookings here.

Thanks Flashware.

I'm also looking at a SN flight later in the day (approx 6hr layover instead of 1h 25m) to Birmingham.....just in case the 1:25 isn't enough time. Do they have a *A lounge at BRU we can smooch around in for a while?

Cheers,
Aaron

There is one but it's pretty basic! Also if you want a shower they let you use the Diamond Lounge next door - it's old, but does the job..

Thanks guys, the little lady is a bit nervous about the connecting time in case the incoming flight is late so has made an executive decision that we will be on the later flight to BHX instead.

Just about to book so will post itinerary when all done.

Sorry guys, trying to find the number to ring to book but can't seem to find it.......does anyone have it handy. cheers, Aaron

I'd try and talk her out of it! Go for the short connection!

Is it all on the one ticket? I would go for the immediate connecting flight and if you miss that they will put you on the next one no questions and free of charge. best of both worlds.

+1
If on 1 ticket, go for the short connection.
Don't stress, they will put you on the next available if missed connection, you are protected.

And a newbie follow on question; assuming one is delayed with customs/immigration ..... is one still protected? I am thinking of those potentially long queues at LAX.

I would say yes. Factors like that are the reason the MCT differs between airports. As long as your booking does not breach the MCT you would be protected. I know UA/UA SYD-LAX-xx_ offers legal connections around 70 mins but I'd say there is a very high chance of missing those.

Thanks, thought that would be the case. Come to think of it, last July I flew IB JFK-xMAD-BCN with a need to clear immigration at MAD being the first EU port, and due to a slightly delayed incoming, long'ish immigration lines and a mammoth walk ... we missed the connection but IB placed us on the next available flight.

Wow, what a morning. Dived right in. Purchased miles and bonus to top two accounts up to 150,000. Unfortunately, I had to use the Share function as well which added another $350 odd. All miles posted immediately into the accounts.

Just Skyped USDM (23 minutes) and ticketed the following:-

SYD - BKK Thai F (747)
BKK - CDG Thai F (A380) destination
CDG - ZRH Swiss J (A320)
ZRH - BKK Thai F (A340) stopover
BKK - SYD Thai F (747)

150,000 miles plus $303.90 each.

I'm buzzing.

Thanks AFF :)

** If the FX rate comes in around 1.045 on the 28 Degree MC - the total cost each will be AUD $3,158 ish.

2 stops >24 hours??

Hmmm, finally done and ticked off most of the boxes...

TG J PER - BKK
TG J BKK - CDG
LH J CDG - FRA // Stop
LH J FRA - LAX // Dest
OZ J LAX - ICN
SQ J ICN - SIN
SQ J SIN - PER

So get my first flight on a A380 and first flight on a 747-8 and will probably choose and exit row upstairs which is also a first for me on a 747..

110,000 and $262.75 taxes plus $50 phone booking fee... I originally thought when i put it on hold that the $262.75 figure was the total inc the $50, but those taxes seem a little high??? Maybe not i suppose....

When doing the research for this how do you get award traveller to show routes through both Europe and Asia. Or is there another tool??
