US Dividend Miles - post your SUCCESSFUL award bookings here.

I wonder if one could get something crazy like PER-SYD-AKL-SCL-PPT return for 30k LOL!

I would take my hat off to that!
No one will ever do. Even the most geographically challenged agent can see that MPM is exceeded here something like 3fold

Just booked HKG-DOH-CPH-xHEL-KIX-TPE-HKG on CX/QR/AY/CX for 80,000 miles plus ₤58 in taxes through the UK call centre.

Only frustration is they wouldn't change me to the earlier DOH-CPH flight despite KVS showing availability on it, leaving me with a 14hr layover there. What are my chances of switching if I ring up to change it? If I get someone like previous agents (e.g. who thought HEL-KIX-HKG was an illegal routing because it went "too far east"), would they go and cancel the whole booking?

if you have already ticketed, it will cost you $150 change fee.

probably little likelihood they will deem the rest an illegal itinerary... but even if they do, they can't/won't automatically cancel it... they will give you the option to keep your current ticket with the 14 hour layover (ie, do nothing)

Is a 3 hr layover connect CX to QR HKG-DOH to DOH-CPH too short? (what's punctuality like on that sector) I arrive at 220 and the earliest DOH-CPH leaves at 0100. If CX runs late, would QR put me on the next flight?

If it's all on the one ticket, the airline will be responsible for getting you to your destination. It may or may not be on the next available service... might be on the next QR service (I don't know the policy). If you have hotel requirements, the airline (or your insurance) will cover that.

If you want an indication of on-time performance, you'll need the flight number, and go to the flightaware website.

3hours is more than enough. They are trying for 30min MCT there, and all OW carriers are close to each other.

Ticketed yesterday all in business for 2 ,

BNE-SYD-NRT-JFK (QF/QF/JL) dest EWR-DEN (US) stop DEN-SFO-HKG-BNE (US/CX/CX)

Fist attempt I called the US and got refused a stop in DEN as not a hub.

Next I called the UK and got it booked but was told they need to check some things and to call back ,

Called back and told MPM was to high, when I question them on it they where working out MPM to DEN not JFK.

I wanted to ticket straight away but was told the pricing team were in a meeting and to call back....

After 3 calls got it ticketed 110,000 miles +123.90 GBP taxes and 35GBP booking fee.

I will miss Dividend miles .... I had better start reading up on Lifemiles .

I know this is the wrong thread but would you be able to book flights from BNE-NYC using lifemiles ?

sure... but you need to find the space and connections piece by piece, take screenshots, and email LM with them, and probably from SYD for more options.

Once LM fixes the glitch, it should be bookable on line again.

I guess the benefit of building piece by piece is that you can build your own itinerary which you couldnt do while the LMs website actually showed connections? For example I doubt LMs would have ever showed BNE-BKK-ICN/NRT-JFK yet you could now book it by sending screenshots and the LM team would have no way of verifying valid routings because they cant check on their website?

Has anyone tried crazy routings with screenshots?

It's not the same department as reservations handling the screenshot bookings. They might have access to a 'proper' booking system to determine routings. I have no idea what rules LM uses. MPM might be one.

I know the system used to allow MEL/SYD-SIN-LAX on SQ, so they're not opposed to routing to the USA via Asia.

I had AA 12 at 1100 now I see on the AA site, as there has never been a copy of the bkg on the USDM site, and they are not taking calls at the moment.

On the record locator on AA, it has been changed to AA 4 departing 1.20 hrs later. I tried to look up the schedule for 1100 on AA and that threw me out too. I can't even see a phone number on the AA site so that I can skype AA and see why/if they'd change it back. Does anyone have a useful phone number and or what do you suggest please?

EDIT, now I see that AA 12 is extinct.
