Pretty surprised the two platforms won't kill it, but I guess she actually did rip the whole speech - lock stock and barrel 🤣
Definitely a good laugh, watching it, everything else aside.

Yes, but how many votes would be affected by any of this? Maybe none.

DT seems to be having a moment as well.

Edit: Content

You might be underestimating the electorate. They are different to us - flag flying, uniformed recognition, military history, etc, etc, etc .... very patriotic people.

In any case, it was a very stupid, very public display in an election year.

Yes, very patriotic. Like you, I have done a few trips to the USA, and have managed to get a bit of a feel for the place.😀

Next trip in six months time and can’t wait.

Edit: But, I take your point

Pretty sure I haven't seen a country more patriotic.... outside of the ones that live in a locker or the poor souls that have the misfortune of living in one of the many failed socialist states :)

I take heart in the theory that although blacks didn’t come out to vote in numbers last time because they had been led to believe that Trump could not win, this time they come out to vote at least. But it’s not easy for people to vote there. It’s a major inconvenience that we don’t have. On the other hand, a lot of blacks do not like Bloomberg because of his stop and search laws which targeted them.

Just speaking to someone in NYC and Trump wants to expunge his impeachment from the record. Talk about his ultimate lie after a speech full of them.

Trump will win the election. Absolutely guaranteed. Why? Because there is no convincing alternative. His opposition is a basket case group of failed individuals who bicker.

Personally, I think Trump is a pig of a person. But I understand why he is successful. And I agree that someone who is flawed but can make decisions is better than the wishy-washy nonsense the opposition there is sunk in....

be careful, you are going to be labelled a Trump lover for saying that.

Yes - he can make decisions. They mainly consist of revenge sackings, starting multiple trade wars, foreign policy debacles and .... yes .... generally being a pig of a person.

The fact that so many people not only accept such behaviour but actively cheer it on - that is depressing.

Have you considered that the US Public would have known more about Donald Trump, and all his personal skills/flaws by a magnitude far more than any presidential candidate than ever before, and pretty much none of that was good. Yet they still voted for this pig of a person. That probably says more about their distaste for the alternatives than their cheers, like, or love for him.

Or rather the right minority were engaged enough to cast their vote for him.

Trump is playing to his audience and cares little about trying to swing anyone else to vote for him. He certainly is not chasing the thinking voter.

I will be fascinated on whether the % who vote goes up. It will not surprise me at all if many who do not want him remain sitting on their hands rather than cast a vote.

Hopefully those who got lolled into a false sense of security in the previous election thinking that Trump could not win will come out this time and vote for anybody but Trump.

If Bernie gets the nod, it will be interesting. He, like Trump, has an extremely passionate base that will get out and vote for him. On paper, he has a lot of the appeal that Trump does - as in anti-establishment. But I think the mainstream media, aided by the Trump clan (and probably the Clintons), will persuade enough voters that Trump is a better option for them, or at the very least, they should stay at home, instead of voting for Bernie. Even amongst those who detest Trump. America is not simply the place for Scandinavian style "capitalism" - or for that matter even the sort of capitalism we are used in to in Australia (or Britain, NZ, Canada etc).

I see, this is a result of pasting the link, not pasting the headline. Is that right?

No, its just 'pasting' from a source with large/bold font. In windows, there is the option to 'paste as plain text' to avoid that sort of thing; I think its what most people use.
