Subscribing for updates - got my 5 trips the US in 2024.

Just found out the hard way that nexus doesn’t grant pre check if you’re not also a Canadian citizen. So global entry it is!

Unfortunately, I am unable to apply (its greyed out) - cant have nexus and ge apparently..?

Not as yet, same as you only shows Sentri at the moment.

Ah, you have to download and use the app. Unless in the time since I created the account they checked my travel history for the 5 trips and enabled access. Either way worth a shot.

My app submitted successfully.

Oh? Interesting, the website doesn't state that we need to use the App but instead go through the TPP site. Did you submit your application via the app?

I'm just looking at the app, it requires a passID which you get once you submit the app. I'm guessing you applied via the TPP site and got a passID?

Edit: there is a 'Determining your Eligibility' section but Global Entry doesn't appear when you select "None of the Above" and "Australia" as citizenship. Would be nice to know whether the 1000 spots have been filled up. Missed out by about 10 hours.

I created my account on the web about an hour ago.

I then downloaded the app, logged into it and global entry was an option.

That's incredibly odd. I checked around midnight AEST this morning and now, there wasn't a Global Entry option when you select the following options on the "Determine Your Eligibility Page":

"Are you a citizen of the United States" : No

"Which Country of Citizenship will you be using to enter the United States": Australia

"Please indicate your Residency Status": I am none of the above

I'm assuming you went through the same process which provided you a Global Entry option under Select a Program? Only thing I've seen for the past few hours was SENTRI as an option and not GE.

Thank you. I checked with a colleague and it seems to be an iOS app only. That's a shame. I'll keep checking the website.

Borrow someone’s phone. Once it’s submitted (or possibly even just started) you can continue on the web.

Thanks for the advice. Manage to submit an application. The waiting game begins.

I received the invitation to complete the background check already which was quick. However when trying to submit the application there is an error, no doubt due to the $0 amount and the process failing (Home Affairs website).

Submitted the Global Entry application and paid via the DHS website around 7pm this evening and received the background check email at 10pm.

I had the same issue with the glitch on the website and only being offered sentri - but thanks to the discussion above managed to use the App to solve the problem.

Submitted application around 12 hours ago - still waiting for background check invitation. I hope the fact I live in the US isn’t slowing things down.
