A couple of months ago I was able to fly J for the first time and the BFF and I selected 5A/B because of all your posts here. We were on-board and settled and already sipping our mimosas when the FA came and asked us to move. She said row 5 is reserved for parents with babies because bassinet blah-blah, and the ground staff should have allocated our seats to the family (waiting nearby to take them). The middle and far sections also had babies and she suggested that we may be more comfortable away from them anyway.
I REALLY wanted to say no but then imagined copping dirties from the parents, having to sit close to the other babies, and receiving poor or no service from the FAs the entire flight (plus the FA was determined, plus i was trying to do what civilised people who normally fly J [not me!] would do, plus i had no balls because it was my first time), so we agreed to move
The parents then went on to utilise the bar area as their personal extra space and/or playpen for their baby - their stuff was everywhere early on in the flight, and then all over the floor some hours later. I went and sat there a couple of times to read (couldn't sleep) and was just eyeballed for sitting in their space, or was side-swiped by them pacing with the baby
i'm still miffed I agreed to accommodate them once I saw what entitled, rude asswipes they turned out to be - that is never happening again!
What would you more experienced J flyers have done? Have you ever been asked to move?
