VA A330s - New Business Class Rollout

I tried a couple of seats on my last flight and honestly couldn't tell the difference between them once sitting down.

If there's a bit of galley noise/bathroom light on night flights, the middle of the cabin will probably be quieter/darker. But as I said earlier, you really can't go wrong.

I was in 1A and couldn't be happier.

Thanks mrsmart!

Sat in 1J from BNE to PER and I couldn't be happier too :)

Middle seats, middle row probably have a roomier feel imho.

I flew SYD-PER on VH-XFJ on Monday, and was very impressed with "The Business". At first I was a little worried about the positioning of my feet which didn't seem too comfortable, but as soon as the chair was reclined a little and the 'ottoman' could be used, it was perfectly fine and very comfy. I really liked the design of the armrest on the aisle-side which slid up/down, and the various lighting options worked well. Service was fantastic, and there were great views out the window - even saw some lighting in the cloud layer below us at one point.

One very minor issue with my seat - during takeoff the tray table kept sliding back towards me (I had to push it back ~5 times) - it didn't appear to 'click' in to place properly. I mentioned it to one of the flight attendants in passing, and they said they would report it.

Found the exact same problem. Not really an issue for the user, but considering how insistent they are on having every object fixed for takeoff and landing (and rightly so), it seems odd that this small thing was overlooked.

I'm sitting with a mate in these seats, we can still talk and stuff yeah? There's no divider between us? Cheers.Screenshot_2015-11-10-11-30-50.jpg

Are ALL of VA's A330-200's fitted with the new business class? I'm looking at VA685 Mel-Per 10th Jan I think.

Hurrah!!

All booked and have the new config:).

I also just learned that you can change your ticket online! Saved me a call centre fee and no other ridiculous charges - that's just bliss! Air NZ usually waives the fee if you're upgrading IME and QF just makes a mockery of it to the point where you cancel your booking and start again! :p Now to figure out how to get the NZ portion into the NZ site so I can select a seat - I know I've seen it on here somewhere but what I recalled didn't work.

They most certainly will be by then. Only thing that could go wrong is ending up with a 737.

If only VA flew this J seat to NZ...

The A330 Business class upgrade was completed a week ago.

I flew VH-XFE from PER to SYD on Sunday after the new T1 domestic pier trial and as I was boarding I noticed that the business class cabin has not been refurbished.

I can do the 738 domestic but hate it on the TT route so there would be a silver lining there for me. However.....

Well there you go. Can't go wrong now. Although, still have to avoid weekends – 738s all over the place.

Yeah I noticed that when I was looking at the QF website! You just can't justify paying the same price for such a different product!! Lie flat .... no lie flat!

Honestly I think I'm so elated at this booking because the price, schedule, plane type, slick connection time, and status credits aligned AND I get to try a cool new product! :) And.... it took me friggin ages to find flights I was happy with. That was the worst part. I've never had to look, think, and compare so hard.

I booked a flight weeks ago and confirmed it was 1-2-1 and selected 1A. Today it turns out it's now 2-2-2, so i'm assuming XFE. Issue is, it's in SYD and i'm not, and can't see anything planned for it (It's been in SYD since last night too). Keeping an eye out, but fly-ahead is the current plan.

Strange did definitely appear to go in for a weeks "service" in Melbourne. VH-XFE was always mentioned as the last one to be done (all others are completed).
It's possible it's being done right now as it has been in Melbourne for 2 days.

I believe XFE was delayed and started its transformation yesterday.

All 6 will be done and dusted, flying the skies next week.

Bring on March for the 777s :)
