Finally got it to work. Now for a couple of bookings

Remember to take a screenshot of the promo activated prior to making bookings, per another thread when they were informed to supply a screenshot to prove an offer had been activated.

Just booked SYD-BNE-AKL-RAR(stop)-AKL(stop)-MEL-SYD in November using the PRW59 (NRMA) promo code.

Came to $1540 for 920 SC or $1.67/SC

Yes RAR is a good deal ex SYD. Also booked 2 tickets in November for $1482 RT each in Business, same routes, including the Amex fee. :)

Love it - leave Saturday and arrive Friday!

Not sure where you got the 920 SC each from for the 6 sectors - just hope your math is better than mine. :p

Arriving into AKL at 2am and flying out at 6.30am I PRAY there is some lounge to use there in wee hours, now that Virgin and not buddies with Air NZ? ? Anyone know the score there?

I am a Star Gold so can just book a fully refundable Air NZ flight I guess and cancel it before flight, to get lounge access but assume Virgin can offer Biz travellers SOME kind of lounge?

The offer would be listed as activated under "My Offers" (which you can navigate to by clicking on "My Velocity" at the top right of the screen after logging into your account) so you can also take a screenshot of this instead...

Strata Lounge is closed - this is actually why I put a stop in AKL on my booking, that overnight 5hr wait doesn't look fun.

We're doing the same days as you but leave RAR on Thursday, arrive AKL Saturday 2am, fly out to SYD via MEL on Sunday night.

Well done on SC Math - many thanks! Had not realised AKL-RAR tipped into next zone.

Very good deal - the NRMA code seems to have made little difference oddly - shame that other Biz class code expired on weekend!

Anyone know the deal with lounge access in AKL in early am hours? Indeed is there any kind of lounge access in RAR?

No lounge access in RAR to the best of my knowledge

How does that assist with a Virgin flight arriving at 2am? Which was my question.

No lounges open unfortunately. You have a choice of the terminal (you can stay airside) or a hotel for a few hours..

So even Air NZ lounge not open at 3am etc in AKL? They have some early am flights as I recalled?

I was replying to another post which said the lounge closes at 1am.
I know it doesn’t help in your situation as I believe you are in no mans land

It opens at 4:30 am according to the NZ website:

Any suggestions for 360SC from Melbourne? (180SC normally) For one or two people flying.

Well that will do IF they actually open at 4.30am! Who knows with Air NZ?

Might phone Virgin and get us put on afternoon flight, they generally will change free if you call within a few hours of booking and do not change day or routing. And the fact they expect Biz pax to sit around a dead airport with no lounge for 4.5 hours is not good. Would rather book a hotel.
