The night market at Muri is a food market and finished by about 8pm. There is no booze sold

Airport closes at DUD overnight so its gotta be a taxi to nearest town and airbnb before waking up after a few hours for the 7am return flight. Will need an afternoon to thaw out on a beach in Brisbane before the connecting flight to Sydney!

also with the amex free return domestic flight, does that earn status credits?

Virgin Plat line changed our AKL-MEL-SYD flights to 4pm thank goodness from the 6.30am. So will hit a hotel in AKL.

We are flying Oct 18 ex SYD, arriving Oct 17! Any suggestions where you saw best deal re hotels etc in RAR?

You can just choose travel bank as a payment option online when you check-out.

Amex flight doesn't earn status credits, although some AFFers have reported having success crediting miles to KrisFlyer.

Ended up staying 24 hours in RAR. Spoke to VA and they shifted my RAR-AKL-BNE-SYD flight to RAR-AKL(stop)AKL-MEL-SYD. Main change being from VA150 (6am to BNE) to VA168 (4pm to MEL).

This means I can go get a good nights rest in at a hotel in AKL.

960SC for $1500 I've effectively bought platinum.

Now for a "decent" hotel to spend the day at.

Finishes well before 8. We wandered down at 7 and most stalls had used up or sold out of everything. Had to eat across the Road.

Anyone know if Alliance flights with a VA flight get double SCs since its not a metal flights. I know it normally gets SCs but the T and Cs here may be a bit more specific

It's no different because Alliance operate them for Virgin Australia.
