I was amazed to note no Hilton Marriott/Sheraton places there, darn shame as top tier with both! Extra shame, as there is a $75 rebate from Amex for Hilton stays right now!

Visited Bora Bora in Tahiti, and they are all there, so odd not in Cook Islands.

I suspect there is some resistance to commercialising the place too much. Their tourism website touts "no building taller than a coconut tree" and I think that's probably a good thing in some ways :)

It's a pretty basic Country really, we were there for a week last August if anyone wants any tips. We just found a place on holidayhouses.co.nz, some are listed on airbnb too so worth comparing both prices. We stayed in Muri beach and it was nice enough, markets were okay they run quite a few days in the week but offer same thing each time. Burger place across the road from them does a decent burger.

I note that the offer says you need to put your VA FF number in at booking - does that mean flights booked via my work travel agent won't be eligible?

I have had work travel booked by a TA without the FF number attached during a promo previously and I just called up VA to get the FF number added to the booking and still got the bonus SC. It would be best to get the FF number added by VA while the promo is still going to give the best chance of getting the bonus.

Just thinking about doing a status run to get 145 SCs (so 290 SCs with the double SC promo) to get to Va Plat. if I book on one PNR Syd-Mel-Lst in Freedom and returning on same day Lst-Mel-Syd in J saver that should net me 2x (25+25, 50+50) = 300 SCs. is that right? Any issue having Freedom fares and Business saver fares on the same PNR in terms of SCs earnings as above? (trying to get back to VA Plat as a way of getting back to Hilton Diamond ;) )

The calc is spot on.

Regarding the combo, it shouldn't - but Virgin do have a rule about fare conditions being at the minimum for the booking. To be on the safe side, I'd book two separate PNRs, one for each direction.

Hi All, I need to get 380SC (well 190SC normally thanks to Virgin DSC offer) to retain my Gold Status (moved jobs) for an upcoming trip away. Can I please have some recommendations ex BNE but happy to go from SYD if needed. I would prefer to do this over a weekend or depart a Friday night. Thanks in advance.

Just trying to use my Amex travel credits,,,the Amex online travel booking site has Q, S, T and M Economy flights listed. Do these classes reflect Elevate, Gateway and Freedom airfares, and if so, which is which? Also I presume "I" refers to Business saver? thanks

I hit Gold and have 400 to go to hit Platinum, worth to spend $1000-1200 to hit Platinum? Following year even if do not maintain, it soft lands to Gold correct?

Thanks AIRwin, sorry to be a pain but are there any any discount codes that I could use? About $1280 return. was hoping for sub $1000

I just noticed the previous post was your first! Welcome to AFF...

I haven't looked at this in detail but try the ones reported here recently:

Yes, you'll have a year from the new review date when you reach Platinum and another at Gold thereafter...

Thanks, probably worth it to get Hilton Diamond as i haven't claimed this before.
I need 332 SCs more to hit Va Plat....then I have 1 year of Va Plat, followed by 1 year of Va Gold, ... and an upgrade to Hilton Diamond (worth a lot to me!). It will cost me about $1000 for those extra 332 SCs, and I'm thinking it is probably worth it :)

Thanks AIRwin, I'm glad I found the Forum, it has some great tips and tricks! Please correct me if I'm wrong but I should be able to go OOL-SYD-MEL-SYD-OOL in Business Saver and net 200 SC (or 400 with Double SC offer). Is that what you were stating before? Sorry, I'm a little new to this Status Run thing, trying to work it all out. I used to fly a lot with my last job so it wasn't a worry, need to be a little smarter about it now. Thanks again

Yes I flew the exact same routing over Easter last year and requalified for Gold with 400 status credits (and 4 eligible sectors) from a single status run....
