Pfizer booster on Saturday after 2 AZ - slightly sore arm for 24 hours but no other side affects. Friend had one same day and he said he feels like cough but then he is male

and meant to say I did have that funny taste in my mouth for a while.

Pfizer booster for Mr MimiS and I this morning - arm is very sore and Mr MimiS is feeling terrible. The nurse said to expect the same reaction as shot #2 with the booster - had a terrible experience so not looking forward to the next few days.

We both got our Pfizer booster shot this morning. Our first vaccination course was AZ. After three hours no sign of a reaction or sore arm - very early times I know but my wife usually gets an instantaneous sore arm after even a flu shot.

Edit: Just checked,17:00 local time, and our vaccination records have been updated with todays dose.

Moderna boosters for us on Tuesday afternoon. First and second were AZ with mild side effects.

We booked appointments at a pharmac_. They were very good. Probably the best jab I have ever had as I didn't feel a thing. The record was available when we got home.

We both had sore arms Tuesday night and yesterday. Didn't stop us sleeping but preferred not to rest on that side. Today we can both still feel a bit of soreness if we knock or lean on that arm but nothing much. So that was about it unless something odd turns up later.

The 9 year old and 7 year old in the family were vaccinated yesterday. The 9 year old was fine. The 7 year old - hopefully no anti vaxxers filming because she refused to get out of the car, extremely cross with her mum and even afterwards was very grumpy with her. She's a bright intelligent kid and her mum is quite immunocompromised (lupie like me) and often unwell but even that wasn't enough to help her through. She's fine today.

Our 5 year old was vaccinated at a Victorian state drive-through centre today. Very positive experience with the jab administered by a childrens nurse. They had special bays set up for kids and gave them a colouring book and fidget-spinner (all the rage these days). Mrs Rebus and I were really impressed.

Though there are some kids who are very clued up to what’s about to happen and no amount of bribes or trickery etc will make an iota of difference

Meanwhile, my sister read something saying that the WHO is now not recommending the 5-11 age group are safe to be vaccinated so she's not getting them done. Frustrating. I haven't looked to see whether it's fake news or not. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to convince her otherwise? If McClown says kids can't go to school unless vaccinated let's just say things will become quite a challenge.

And until Delta came along no one <10 admitted to ICU in NSW and only 1 <20.
Since Delta 11 and 37 respectively. So for the under 10s since Delta 1.1 in 100000 were admitted to ICU. Roughly the same as serious adverse events with vaccines. This was for cases until 25/12/21

Question for the qualified medicos in the AFF community:

This report from the ABC ends with a suggestion that having a booster shot in the "other" arm to the arm you received previous vaccinations may reduce the likelihood of swelling in the lymph nodes following an mRNA booster. Does this make sense and with consideration when receiving the booster?

Why did I get sore armpits after my COVID booster, but not my first two doses?

You're much more likely to get swollen or sore lymph nodes following a Pfizer or Moderna booster than after a first or second dose. What's going on?

I showed her the UK GOV / JCVI advice and seems to have convinced her to book. All her girls have autism so that's one other thing to factor in. I said I want a photo of them with a lollipop post jab, although not sure if they're even doing that

Had the hat-trick of Pfizer doses now (as of Sunday before last). Dose 1 in July, dose 2 in August, dose 3 10 days ago. All at a Vic Gov state vax hub.

Dose 1 caused confusion as I was invited to get the vaccine before I was eligible by age (I'd registered and was sent an invitation to make an appointment), but I had the booking so they just let me go (was told apparently nobody bothered checking the details, so although I'd provided all the correct details, they shouldn't have let me book, so it was their mistake). Anyway I did the same for OH (1 year younger) and all was well (there was plenty of vaccination capacity at the time luckily).

No effects at all from dose 1, dose 2 knocked me over for 48 hours, dose 3 was even worse, knocked out for 72 hours, felt horrible (like a really bad cold but without blocked sinuses, except dose 3 where I was a bit congested) - felt hot, shaky, dizzy, joint pain and a terrible headache. Spent three days full of codeine, ibuprofen and pseudoephedrine, which took the edge off all the symptoms, then felt fine. The side effects for dose three actually took longer to start than the second too - dose 2 was a PM shot, was feeling bad by bedtime. Dose 3 was a morning shot and I still felt fine at bedtime, but woke up (or rather sweated myself awake) with all the symptoms.

Vaccination certificate (both domestic and international) was available updated with the third dose immediately, which was good. Anyway, gotta do what we've gotta do, so no complaints.

Two younger members of the family, aged 11 and 7, had their first doses. The younger one was fine. The older had the runs on the day and the day after, which I understand is not uncommon.

It sounds like Sydney Olympic Park has a good set up for the littler people.

I visited the Sydney Olympic Park Vax Centre today and as reported there is no waiting and plenty of unused capacity. I had an interesting disagreement as I went to enter the access line when I had a blue surgical mask thrust at me and told that I had to wear it. I pointed out that I was wearing an Australian (Qld) made P2 mask taken out of the pack this morning and that it was much more protective then the one being offered. They asked if I was a nurse and insisted I had to wear their mask over the top of mine, which I said was a total waste of time and government resources. An officious lady then yelled at me "if you do not put it on you are not going to enter the building". So, deciding it was a lost cause asking where in the Health Orders it said I must wear the mask they supplied (it doesn't), I put it over my mask and demonstrated it was a total waste of time because my properly fitted P2 mask caused the one supplied to gape open on all sides held out be the P2 mask. She said we know where ours come from to which I replied "Yes China". I entered the building and went to a lady whose ID said "RN" and asked why must I wear this useless mask over my P2. She said "you don't, take it off". Enough said !! I had Moderna (booster) and did not even feel it go in.

I got my Moderna booster yesterday afternoon at a pharmac_. The only side effect was an aching arm, but ibuprofen easily took care of that.
My vaccination certificate was updated soon after, but now it only shows vacc# 2 and booster. Is this normal, or do I need to contact someone?

Its normal for the covid vaccination certificate to have the last 2 shots (ie 3rd shot booster and the 2nd dose).

The Medicare immunisation history statement has all 3 shots.
