Vaccine Rollout in Australia - personal accounts.

Trying to book Novovax for 4th shot. A pop up appears that ATAGI ”advises” this vaccine is for individuals who cannot have any other vaccine. Can I still go ahead and book it or will I be denied when I get there?14FC8C25-1834-4210-AB11-4E641D0C4CB7.png

Australia ordered 51 million doses of Novovax and hardly any has been used so it should be easy to obtain. I plan to get it as my 4th short.

I now think I will go to aqua and line up for my fourth as holidays late this year seem increasingly problematic
GP practice is still pushing Pfizer but will dig up Moderna on request… no Novavax

addendum : vast majority in Bunnings today were masked…the media mask campaign must be working

I had mine at Terry White -just booked online and no problem -however I am over 65 although no other factors. I rang the chemist to ask and they said no problem so try ringing to check just first.

Husband is due his fourth /second booster. He will take what the recommendation is from his GP. I will do the same.
I do think in a way it is..."ehh another vaccine " for a lot of people at this stage . The vaccine is taken and you move along .
I was actually more interested in the flu vaccine for husband due to his health issues. We discussed that far more than his subsequent covid shot

Any approved vaccine is better than no vaccine. Good thing the vaccines are in plentiful supply.

I need to wait for my next dose as it hasn't been long enough since my latest dose. If I decide to travel at the end of the year I might delay my next dose a bit. 3 months is a pretty short gap.

I'm under 40, not immunocompromised and got my fourth shot (are we calling that a second booster?) last week. Went to my local chemist and it was packed, I was ninth in line (even though I had the first appointment).

I was asked which one I wanted and chose Moderna as my previous shot was Moderna. I haven't had any side effects from the four shots (or the flu shot) so was happy to get in sooner rather than later.

Novavax not as easily available (inner west Sydney). Lots of Pfizer and Moderna close by, but choosing Novavax means having to go somewhere further. As in 2 or 3km instead of within 1 km.

exactly my story except tick over 40yo.
Had 4th shot 1st day.

Mrsandye has her first covid with common cold level of symptoms 😞
I don't yet
I had dose 4, six days ago whereas she hadn't got round to it
Interested to see how pans out (despite no meaningful conclusions to be drawn)

Mrsandye reached flu level of symptoms at 24h and is slowly improving
I am still negative (3 RATs and 2 PCRs)

I am booked for Novavax on account of 2 episodes of pericarditis post 2nd and 3rd dose Pfizer vaccine. Means moderna is also contraindicated, AZ I’m happy to have but finding someone to administer it to someone of my age was impossible. So a 3 hour drive to get Novavax.

No reason to assume it will be any worse in terms of side effects. It’s essentially AZ vaccine but the viral vector producing spike proteins step has been done in cell culture, ie cut out the middle man

I had my 4th shot yesterday moderna and have a sore arm and feeling like cough this morning, at least there was no waiting at chemist.
We now have 3 staff who are off with covid out of 12 everyone bar 1 person has had covid and now first person to get it twice.

Had moderna as my 4th shot few days ago.

Felt nothing except the spot on the arm was sore in the first 24hrs
Next 24hrs felt feverish and body ache
Then all good.

Sore arm was gone by hour 36ish

Off to Germany in a couple of weeks for a big exhibition so didn't want to risk it

First 3 shots were Pfizer.

Moderna as my 4th vaccine a couple of days ago. Slight arm soreness was the only side effect, the same as for the 3 previous Pfizer shots.

Moderna's bivalent booster became available in Australia earlier this week. Some of the pharmacies in the Sydney CBD had plenty of same day appointments available for it so I decided to duck out of the office to get that as my fourth dose today. My first 3 doses had been done at the the Olympic Park vax centre. The experience at the pharmac_ was great - wonderful staff, quick and easy process and my Medicare record updated instantly. At first it didn't even feel like I'd had the shot, but very mildly sore arm this evening, otherwise feel fine.
