Vaccine Rollout in Australia - personal accounts.

Had my second Pfizer jab this morning. Got there early before opening at 8.45 and there was already a queue, some people had brought camping stools! Doors opened at 9, I had my jab at 9.15 and was out the door at 9.30.

At 10 I got a myGov email, which I haven't looked at. Presumably it's to tell me that my Medicare record has been updated.

Feeling tired now and my shoulder feels a bit numb.

Woke up today with a headache. Still a bit tired now at lunchtime and a bit achy. Very different from the first jab. Had a huge nap this afternoon. Still tired.

Yesterday morning at RPAH Pfizer hub.
Took nearly two hours.
Definitely not as quick as Olympic Park.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm booked for my first shot at RPAH in a few weeks. I'll bring a book to pass the time.

Presumably there's no issue with eating something whilst waiting?

29 year old son had first AZ jab yesterday. Came home from work this afternoon with a fever, 39.2, and aches and pains in every joint. Not a happy camper right now

29 yr old son had second AZ jab this week, at the 12 week mark after 1st jab. No aches, pains , headaches or fevers. Much happier this time around.

2nd jab and other than a sore shoulder ( like being punched ) no side effects.

Booked into the Logan Convention Centre on Sunday 9:30am,
Arrived @ 9am, and i was all done and back in my car by 9:30!
I havent had any side effects at all, not even a sore arm or injection point.

Had my first AZ jab this morning at the first appointment I could get at my local GP now that I am eligible. I think I am already having mild side effects which is not unexpected.

They asked a very insensitive question on the form - “Are you pregnant?” - what is a single male hoping to have a family meant to make of that?

I had the same question as a single male. Guessing it's to respect gender identity etc / equal questions for all. In the same sense that you're asked if you identified as indigenous.

At RPA, was told not to worry about the actual appointment time, "just come anytime"!
I suspect that may be the reason why the waiting time was so long compared to Olympic Park.

I'm do not think demasking to eat whilst in a queue of random strangers is wise.

How frustrating, if they enforced the times strictly like they do at Olympic Park they would run much smoother.

Just had my first Pfizer shot at the Noarlunga hub south of Adelaide CBD. Fairly efficient process from check-in, to jab, to observation period. All completed within 40 minutes.
For anyone else in Adelaide looking at booking an appointment, every time I have checked the mass hubs Noarlunga has always had plenty of availability within a day of checking, much better than the others.

Had my second Pfizer on Weds, 23 June, 22 days after my first. Went to STARS at RBWH for this one. Bit of a hit on the parking cost.

No side effects for me with either jab, apart from a slight headache the day after jab 2. Panamax sorted that out.

Along the same lines as asking all blood donors if they have engaged in male to male sexual activity. Way back in the 90s sometime, I accidentally said Yes.
That caused a bunch of extra questions!!

(I am a cisgender woman, and apart from the time I did the Shave for a Cure, generally do not get confused for a man )

Forewarned is forearmed. Though turning up at anytime is rather annoying. I'll have to bring a couple of books...in a milk crate.

I turned up early to my vaccine appointment at my GP and got it before the scheduled time. I think I may have had the first appointment or one of the first though so they were probably keen to not start the day behind schedule.

Feeling like a cold is coming on at the 23 hour mark, funny throat still at work but i might have to go home on time today.

Got my AZ #2 on Tuesday ,,, as with #1, no obvious side effects. At least I am now pretty well protected, woohoo!!!

36hrs since 2nd Pfizer, total fizzer, no side effects again.
Just minor local needle soreness, but nothing flu shot don't give me.

Happy to join the 10% club (so far).

Booked Mrs Moo in for 1st Pfizer as healthcare worker, next month. Circumstances it couldn't be done earlier.

Feeling some warmth in the insides somewhere in the vicinity of the waist. Not sure if this is a side effect and whether I should be concerned to still be feeling this on Friday evening having had the vaccine Monday morning?
