Velocity changes: Changes to status credits

Are the new SC brought in for all flights after June 6 or all flights booked after June 6?

From the Velocity Rewards website (Program Update | Velocity Rewards):

For flights taken before 6 June 2011, you will be awarded Points and Status Credits based on the previous earn method, i.e. per dollar spent.

..which implies that flights taken after 6 June 2011 credit per the new table (which has certainly been the case for me).

I'm glad they went with this way, it is much cleaner and everyone knows how much they will earn from that date onwards

Not sure if anyone noticed that the different status credit classes (Discount/Full Fare/Premium/Business is clickable and leads to a webpage with the different fare buckets. Hope this helps others with trip planning, but a stack of EY earns full fare economy - i.e. all Y fares!

Discount Economy:

• Virgin America: SLMUEHBV
• Malaysia Airlines: OLSVMQHKB

Full Fare Economy:

• V Australia: YB
• Ethiad Airways : YBHKMQLVUET

Yep that's why I was hoping my status would count with the new system, I get 60 more credits points due to full econnomy on Etihad!

I turned Gold on May 31, and my card arrived on June 28.

This morning was my first time through the Premium Entry at Sydney airport. The five security people were smiling and very friendly!

Really nice! The metal loop instead of the rubber thingy for the bag tag is a nice touch. It would appear that they've given up on embossing the cards though .. :-/

Yeah I like the metal loops - similar to the SPG tags that they sent out a year or two ago.

Those metal loops are great,CX use them as well when I joined the Marco Polo club a few years ago they sent me
4 of them and a little metal carrier to slide the card into,I use the loops to attach my QF tags to my luggage
and they never come off.

Although this week I'll be 60% to Platinum (just guessing at the qualification level there) and I have no SCs expiring for 5 months, so I might just wait for the Platinum tags and card to arrive

I'm hoping though that Platinum kicks in around early November as I do have some SCs expiring at the end of Nov and in Dec!

happy security people.... It's actually un nerving the first time you go thru.... like a parallel universe..... Did you get security screened (the dude with the mini vacuum thingy) ? I seem to get it every time but then I'm the only one in the gold entrance at the time... So kinda feel sorry for him.... The old tactic of avoiding his gaze is a little hard....
