Velocity Shop and (NOT) earn

Re: Velocity Shop and NOT Earn

I have now received points to my account from both Snapfish and Lasoo, total time from transaction to points was ~2 months.

Re: Velocity Shop and NOT Earn

Made a transaction through Shop and Earn early last week, and it's failed to appear as pending or similar.

Re: Velocity Shop and NOT Earn

Having had a look at some other similar types of things (money back rather than points), at sites like moneybackco and buckscoop, it seems that there are problems all round with this. Not sure if its a technical thing, or the fact that they are very dependent on the supplier actually sending information back, but they all seem to have problems reliably posting within the stated time frames.

Re: Velocity Shop and NOT Earn

Well I must have everything set up right for Shop and Earn. I signed up for Bigpond Movies early September and the 700 points were credited to my account yesterday.

I'm using Firefox 3.5.

Re: Velocity Shop and NOT Earn

I've now struck the "NOT Earn" bug with Shop'n'Earn (So I do agree with people who claim the "NOT Earn" bit now ... And I thought they were getting better!)

You visited the ShopAndEarn Store recently and went looking for Velocity Points. We’ve looked into things for you and here’s what we’ve been able to uncover.

*What we found*

We can’t allocate Points to your Account due to one of the following reasons:-

§ you weren’t logged in to the ShopAndEarn Store when the purchase was made

§ the ‘Shop Now’ link wasn’t clicked immediately before you made the purchase

§ you didn’t complete the purchase

§ your cookie settings didn’t allow the retailer to be recognised for the transaction

§ the retailer doesn’t have a record of the transaction

§ the transaction wasn’t made online

§ the purchase was cancelled or deemed invalid.

*Here to help you*

It’s a shame we haven’t been able to allocate Points to your Account in this instance. If there’s anything else we can help with, take a look at the ‘How it works’ section of ShopAndEarn (Velocity - ShopAndEarn - How It Works) or give us a call on the number below.

Re: Velocity Shop and NOT Earn

Interesting thread. I was thinking of making some purchases on the Apple store using the Shop and Earn link, but it appears not to be worth it. I might just go to my local Apple store and buy in person instead.

Levelnine,

I bought from Apple through the link and it took a couple of months but it did credit. Was beginning to think I would never see the points then they appeared.

If things track correctly, then things should work out well... and what do you lose by trying to get something extra for purchasing the Apple stuff?

In my case, I suspect what has happened is that an Ad-Blocker I use has caused the cookies to not correctly be set, or something else that is required for the tracking. It is certainly frustrating, although there is nothing I can do about it now. The number of points I lost (I think a couple of hundred) isn't really that important in the bigger picture.

Edit: -- actually, now that I think about it, my Ad-Blocker was installed post the purchase that didn't track. So it's still pointing to poor tracking by the affiliate network of Shop'n'Earn, or the merchant being irresponsible.

I use a UK equivalent called Quidco, and have made over $A200 in a few months for purchasing various items from them. Amazingly it works rather well, but like Shop'n'Earn occasionally things won't track correctly.

I bought from the APple store last week and got email within a couple of days saying the purchase had happened and the the points will be credited. Points haven't come through yet (then again the computer hasn't arrived yet either) but it looks like it has worked fine.

Re: Velocity Shop and NOT Earn

I did a couple of transactions through Shop and Earn last week to see if things had improved, but there's no sign of either of them.

Re: Velocity Shop and NOT Earn

My bonus points appeared after 2 months and I'll certainly use the Shop n Earn again. Yeah, the points could be quicker, but the price was right, and so was the bonus.

Same merchant, different time and the points are now pending.

Glad they are destined to post (eventually), but why it didn't work before, and works now I don't know.

Re: Velocity Shop and NOT Earn

It looks like results are all over the place when using Shop and (don't) Earn... In addition to epharmacy.com.au, now they also have homepharmacy.com.au (supposedly 3 pts/$1) and pharmacyonline.com.au (same 3pts/$1 rate). Does anyone have any experience with these 3 outfits in regards to product quality (e.g., do they send medicines that have a short expiration date?). I guess epharmacy is not the most reliable at awarding DJ points, but that could be a shopping site-related problem... any comments?

Re: Velocity Shop and NOT Earn

Well, I guess I'll reply to my own question. Epharmacy (no longer with Shop and Earn) proved to be completely unreliable, no points and possibly counterfeit meds (I'm still investigating that).

As for Shop and DON'T Earn, they're beyond shockingly incompetent and haven't learned the most basic Customer Service 101 lessons. Save your time and get more points (overall): almost everything (and more) sold at Shop and DON'T Earn is available at DikcSmith or Big W, and you'll get your QF points without any trouble if you present your Woollies card.

Just wondering if anyone else has found this inconsistent/unreliable. Sometimes my points show up, other times they don't. It says they should show as pending in 24 hours, but I have purchases from weeks ago that haven't showed up.

I don't have enough cred to send private messages apparently...
