Re: www.shopandearn.com.au

I don't have enough cred to send private messages apparently...

You can PM a mod who will pass on your contact details to the authenticated company rep for follow up if you would like, we are here to help?

Re: www.shopandearn.com.au

My recent experience is that ebay doesn't work and Dominos doesn't work.

I've had points credited from both Ebay and Dominos.

My experience is that the purchase will usually show up as pending in 48 hours. Then after about 3 to 4 months, I would get an email saying the points would be credited within 24 hours. But no! It takes another month before the points are credited.

Re: www.shopandearn.com.au

My problem was with Thrifty, but it could extend to many other Shop and Earn partners. Still waiting on bonus points that were meant to be credited in September last year. Each time it is escalated (if I pursue it again it will be the fourth time) I seem to hit a dead end. I am told to send to an email address that no one seems to monitor.

As a shareholder and Velocity member, it's a little bit annoying and it's also a little sad that this has to be my first post on the board. Don't offer things you have no intention/capability of honouring. Make sure the systems are in place to do so before you offer them.

Welcome to AFF, Thrifty are a Velcocity partner rather than a shop and earn partner, so the process to get points will be different, although the bonus points may well be a Velocity thing. I am having a big issue getting bonus points out of QF holidays, and they are part of the same group of companies that operates the FF program!

Thanks and right you are. From my discussions with Velocity call centre operators the bonus points are apparently a Thrifty issue but I can't really tell anymore. At some point one just has to weigh up the utility of time spent chasing a relatively small (in the scheme of things) amount of points versus the utility of actually being able to use them were they credited.

Hopefully I will be able to contribute to AFF in a number of other areas!

Harriaj, if you would like to private message some details, we can follow up with Thrifty.
Cheers

Re: Velocity Shop and NOT Earn

I recently made a transaction leading to nearly 30,000 velocity points using Shop and Earn. Initially it didn't show up on my transaction list. This caused some initial concern so I contacted AFF member Velocity Rewards. The speed at which it was resolved at that point was astonishing and I've got nothing but praise for how it was handled after the initial hiccup.

Harriaj,

Until you get more posts up you will not be able to PM to other than moderators or admin. If you wish to follow up on the offer from Velocity Rewards then feel free to send me the PM and I will forward it onwards for you.

I'm surprised at the number of non-working points claims.

To me, the issue is the delay - it shouldnt take 30-60-90 days to get the points. All mine have eventually come through, it just that it takes forever for the points to actually post.

I'd have said 14 days (irrespective of whether the retailer is Aus/O'seas based) would be a more reasonable timeframe, given it's all electronic! In most instances, i've had the product arrive by snail mail (even arriving from the UK!) before the points post. Arguably it should not be more than 5 working days! But 14 days would be reasonable.

Since Velocity Rewards seems to be actively monitoring this thread, could you perhaps advise (if possible) why there is such a huge delay between purchase and points posting? Certainly it would seem to cause at the very least frustration, and to some extent, negative brand impact on the Velocity program. (I note i've made an assumption it's all done electronically, but perhaps it's not and that's the delay, but in 2011, surely it should be electronic??)

Perhaps this is being addressed with the new program launch (alluded to as part of the rebrand of DJ)??

I think you will find that the shop and earn program is not to different to other internet rebate schemes, to put things in perspective most of the same retailers also participate in moneybackco etc, and with these schemes the money back is often in 90 days, in the case of the Velocity program you are getting points instead of money but the framework and probably the system in use is the same. I will be interested to hear if you do get a response, however it could well be out of virgins hands, in which case expectations need to be reset and made clear when it comes to the time it takes for points to post.

oh, certainly, they do say it'll take 30 or 60 days, but in practice it appears longer.

my query is: why does it take that long?

Re: Velocity Shop and NOT Earn

I agree with the delay being an issue. While those aforementioned points have 'only' been pending for three weeks a quick check of my account reveals that 634 points from TiesnCuffs is still pending from the 3rd of September last year!

Re: Velocity Shop and NOT Earn

Hi guys,
If you do have issues over lengthy periods of time between points being credited, send us a private message with your details and we can look into it for you.

On a personal note, I bought an ipad at xmas through the shopandearn store and had the points accredited with no problems - so i've seen firsthand it does work! :)

Re: Velocity Shop and NOT Earn

Well here is my experience. I bought something on ebay in Nov 10 and the points shows pending in my account, after 60 days still pending, 90 days still pending. Called up and explained the situation, the staff said normally takes up to 60 days to get points credited, then I informed her it's been 90 days, then that side became silence, she said the points would be approved within 14 days.

After 14 days, nothing happened, called up again and straight way said would like to logge a formal complaint about the issue, guess what? The points finally appeared in my account within 1 hour. Very interesting.

wxxnxs,

I suggest you send a PM to Velocity Rewards as he suggested. Include all the details and he will follow up for you.

Will do next time. So far I haven't been using shop and earn very frequently, but one of supplier is quite good, all of points normally will be allocated within 60 days, the others could take ages.
