Velocity status on Singapore Airlines

Not a post about status, but for anyone looking for cheap fares to find ex Japan back home on Singapore Airlines, they have limited Business fares for around $1800 floating around.

Just nabbed one from Nagoya albeit with an 8 hour layover in Singapore.

Despite various other routing and carriers I've decided to lock in double VA points and collect current status credit values before the change kicks in on SQ metal. Flights will be in economy so that will be interesting but at least as VA Platinum some lounge access exists.

PER-SIN-CGK -SIN-BKK-SIN-PER.

Cost AUD1,300 which I think is actually pretty good.

I did walk T1-T2-T3 many years back but that may no longer be possible.

Did that air train transfer last night and I'd hate to be walking it! Took a fair time on train.

Ozzies BEWARE.

We were carrying bags of Duty Free spirits bought airside in India. All sealed up, and in see thru duty-free bags.

To enter departure gates for Oz flights in T1 there is a security screening for some reason.

All the booze sailed thru, but a polite official guy on other side was confiscating it all, and showing us a page of AUSTRALIA Government regulations saying it was not permitted, even if within the litre limit. UNLESS bought in SIN Duty Free and delivered to aircraft door there.

Our cost us $A125. The guy in front of us was with wife and 2 adult kids, and was wailing his cost $300.

We lost it all. :mad::confused:

So it's the Aussie govt doing this...from 2018? Also just applying the 100ml rule for transit?;it's the same in Europe I'm believe or at least the UK if you have to go through additional security. Always has been I think.

Yes dopey ozzies were the culprits.

Get off one plane where you buy it sealed airside and it is not good enough if flying out of Changi - crazy rule.
