Can anybody confirm if under any circumstances it is possible to view / change seats on Virgin / Velocity web site post original paid / rdpt booking made?

If you are asking if you can change your seat selection between time of booking and time of flight, then the answer is yes...depending upon status. Go to My Bookings and click on the PNR in question which will open a new window and at the top (under travel extras) click on "seats" which will bring up the changeable seat map.

I think that ability is only for status member though I could be wrong. Is that what you were asking?

EDIT....I just tried for Platinum, silver and red and the option was available for all three.

Yes.
J Reward seat
Mac OSX 10.6.8
Chrome 48.0.2564
Firefox 44.0.1
Safari 5.1.10

I can do seat selection for my current booking. However it is not always the case.

Definitely cannot do any seat selection for bookings via travel Agents - smiliarly for other airlines.

Nah definitely will not let me change J rdpt - every time I click on 'Seats' I get this pop up window:

Velocity.JPG

Rdpt was made over phone on Sat night.

Here has been my experience - as of tonight:

For bookings made by cash/points+pay any seat - seat changes are allowed online
For bookings made by cash, and an upgrade has been applied (points/plat voucher) - seat changes are allowed online
For bookings made by points alone - no seat changes allowed online

I am encountering the same issue. Originally booked J VA 8 online, and some time later I called and changed to VA 2 back to Sydney to get on the refurb'd 777. Unable to make changes to my seat when it was VA 8 or VA 2.

I can make seat changes to my next J reward points only booking. This has not been the case for all previous rewards bookings. Some yes some no

TBH, I am not familiar with the VA website so yes, I do find it rubbish as it is not user friendly.

I am trying to book a reward fare, the options are pay in points or pay in points + about $20 taxes. I want to pay the taxes in $$$ (better value).
When I select the fare it shows as all points. When do you get the choice to choose?

I'm cautious to keep entering my details and clicking next as knowing my luck I've missed something and it will book in points.
Why can't the process be simpler??? Should people have to ring VA to find out how the website works?
Grrrrr

Buzzard you select the flight, enter passenger details, select seat, select stuff like carbon offset, car hire and the last page has a slide bar for the amount of points / $$ to pay ..

It will not book the flight until you accept the T&C's

Agreed, it is not obvious straight up but once you have done it, its fairly straight forward

And todays error message when searching flights is:

Sad face and "This webpage has a redirect loop"

*sigh*

That error often seems to be the result of a broken cookie Denali - try deleting any VA/VFF relevant cookies, a separate browser, or putting your browser into incognito/private mode.

Once you click on a fare and flight at what point does it hold your reservation? I was booking SYD-BNE-SYD yesterday in happy hour and my SYD-BNE flight I chose was "one seat remaining". I'd clicked on that and my return flight and then through seat allocation and right up to processing payment - I'd entered my card details when I got the message "that fare is no longer available" (!!) So at what point does it hold the reservation? Only after payment has been processed? Surely it holds the fare and seats once you click the next screen from the fares page?

It wasn't a major debacle as I just grabbed the same fare 30 minutes later but it was quite irritating as I'd already gone through 99% of the process.

Many thanks, this did the trick!

Definitely in Chrome in incognito mode works and does not show this error

Is the nil availability for J rewards on SYD-OOL and vice versa from 16 December 2016 onwards a bug or...?
