Velocity/Virgin websites are RUBBISH

If anyone still makes VFF Hotel bookings, Virgin Australia's own hotel bookings website, and it keeps telling you, that your email address is invalid, as happened to me today, the fourth box, in the 2nd line, is where are supposed to enter your email address, the fifth box, is your phone number.
First box is Mr/Mrs/Ms, second is first name, third is surname, fourth box is your date of birth (xx/xx/xx) and the smart thing calculates your age, ....
Fourth box, is where you enter your email address.
Stupid thing does not tell you what you are supposed to enter in each box!

Ive had nothing but problems.

Either I get told I need to provide a search name/city (which I entered on the previous screen), or I dont get the voucher emailed to me so I have to phone and have it resent and unlike the old Agoda days where you can cancel an applicable reservation, now you get hit with a $80 cancellation fee and get told that they wont charge 2 x $80 fees (for the 1 booking, because its 2 people room) and youre suppose to say thank you.

Bad to worse and Im now booking more and more direct with the hotel.

Oh boy what fun.

1. Trying to make a booking for my partner. Can't login to her Velocity account on the right hand side during booking (says wrong password) but can on the Velocity website + Virgin Australia shows it as her logged in on main page but not during ticket purchase flow. On top of that I can login to -my- Velocity account on the right hand side...

2. Enter all the details and proceed to purchase. Enter all CC details and submit.........and.....I'm given a "Logged Out - You have successfully logged out of your session." page. No booking made. Wait what?

3. "Logged Out" error above occurs when I'm trying to make a different booking for myself.

4. Give up on Chrome, fire up Internet Explorer and get my partners booking done. Goes fine this time. Do mine and after seat selection the page doesn't go anywhere and "continue" is disabled. Have to start again. Then it works and booking is made.

Thanks for the fun VA .

This is becoming a regular occurrence for me and it's happening again this morning.

It's really quite pathetic: while I don't buy that much online, I've never encountered another business with a website so determined to stop people from spending money.

Doesn't help everyone, but Accelerate is getting a new Business Portal next week. Hopefully it does provide an improvement. I'd become accustomed to the clunkiness of the existing portal and could make my way through the booking process relatively quickly. Let's hope it's not a step backwards.

Virgin Australia Business Portal Upgrade

Dear Valued Client

Next week we will be introducing the new Virgin Australia Business Portal which will replace the existing Virgin Australia Corporate Portal.

To ensure you get continued services while we migrate to the new system, please note the following important information:

1. The current Virgin Australia Corporate Portal will be unavailable from 22:00 AEST Friday 18 August 2017. The new Virgin Australia Business Portal will be live on Monday 21 August 2017.
2. During this time, please contact the Virgin Australia Guest Contact Centre on
1300 246 498 (select option 2) for assistance.
3. Any changes made to your current Admin/Travel Arranger/Traveller profiles including the creation of new Travel Arranger/Traveller profiles after 14 August will not be migrated, therefore these changes won't be reflected in your new login.
4. You will receive a Welcome email overnight on Sunday with your login details to the new Business Portal.
5. All live bookings will be migrated to the new Business Portal by 21 August 2017. A new Profile ID for the business will be created and highlighted in the Welcome email.
6. Some Traveller profiles may not be migrated and will need to be set up after launch.

If you have any questions, please contact the Virgin Australia accelerate team.

Kind regards,
Virgin Australia accelerate team

Sounds a lot like the guff we were told about the migration to Sabre ... in early 2013. Lucky that was so seamless or we may worry!

Doesn't matter how you input your phone number on an existing booking using the update my details function, it's the wrong format and refuses to save. Which means it also refuses to add your VFF #. Thanks Virgin.

Same problem as a couple of weeks ago. Go to make a booking, get through everything okay and then when I enter my CC details and press submit it displays an error message stating that I haven't filled in the *additional* CC details for my hotel booking (which I have not made).

Can't work around it at all. Have had to screenshot it so I can call up tomorrow and get them to honour the fares I've tried (for the last hour) to book.

Every time I try using my IPad something glitches so I have to use a desktop computer.

Aargh! Can't even book a damn flight on their website. Once I put in my CC details it says "please confirm hotel reservation"(I have no hotel reservation) and then refuses to process my payment

I'm having a separate issue, booking flights BNE - LAX and getting the error message that the fare is no longer available. I search for it again, select it again, and get the same error. Can't believe they don't want my money?!?

Mr Jurahn was waitlisted for upgrade on an upcoming PER-MEL flight and received notification today that the upgrade has gone through - "click here to select your seat now" says the email. The link just takes him to the VA website page about seat selection. Logs in and calls up his booking, selects Manage Seating, and gets "this booking can only be amended by calling the Guest Contact Centre as Flight Extras have been purchased" (which I assume means the points upgrade as there was nothing else added/purchased with this flight). Under the booking details, seating for this flight now shows as "Select Seat" Tries clicking that instead, same message. **Sigh**. Seeing as he was logged in, he tried going back to the email and clicking on the "Select your seat now" link, but that just took him back to the general seat selection page. Ends up having to call the GCC to select a seat. What a rigmarole!

Yesterday morning was searching Mel>JFK in J redemtion.. Etihad came up fine... go in later in the afternoon and even today Etihad no longer appears in any of the search results no matter what class i choose. Anyone else have this issue? is it a Weekend thing perhaps?

There is something going on with EY I think. I read somewhere that within the last few days ANA has also just 'temporarily' suspended redemption on EY. At the same time, Coles suddenly suspended redemption of flybuys for EY miles...'until further notice'.

Ah yes i do remember seeing something like that. hopefully they are not parting ways and an update on the status of award redemption with etihad is not too far away.

I think all is OK Velocitywise...I did see EY results earlier today.

I find it next to impossible to add my VA FF number to a booking.
I can do seat selection, but when l go to update my details, no-go.

I keep getting this.

Anyone else?

VFF website would not let me do OLCI for purely VAd Au flight 48 hrs ago.
Check in at airport was OK.
Even had an SMS reminder from VA not to forget OLCI.

There is clearly an issue if I am choosing points + pay at the payment page and this selection is being ignored.
This is still a problem btw, in Chrome on my pc. I couldn't be bothered to phone to make the booking, but was able to move the slider one notch and that brought out the credit card section for only a small waste of points.

I encountered the same issue as you a few weeks back and did the same thing with the slider. I think the best I could do was wasting 50 points. Not the end of the world but a silly glitch.
