Vinomofo Wine Deals

Seems that Vinomofo are a product of their own success...and the unintended consequences that comes with that success. It's at this point that a truly good business learn how to channel that success and not stifle it on the vine....as it just may wither and die. I'm still sitting on the sidelines (joined VM but not yet purchased), as I'm still torn between Epiqure (QF points) and savings. So they have a conundrum, how will they approach it?

IMHO the $$ savings made via Vinomofo far outweigh the points earned from Epiqure, and you can still earn some points by paying with a CC. However, if Epiqure offer something special, points bonus or wine that you are after, then buy from Epiqure.
In fact I got a good deal from Epiqure some months back when they had a buy one, get one free offer. Too good to pass by.

At the end of the day, as long as you get wine that you really enjoy, does it matter where you get it?

Exactly. Use both, depending on which one suits on any particular day.

We've got some but havent tried it yet.

Thanks Doc,

On your recommendation I just bought a Poonawatta, Vinomofo should put you on their xmas mailing list. I have too much wine and was intending to not purchase anything for a wee while unless something special came up so Vinomofo can thank this social intercourse for more sales.

Latest VIM deal (ICONIC SECRET DEAL Shiraz 2012). $75 down to $37.50. Described as:

'This is by far one of the easiest write-ups we’ve had to do because there’s not much writing and a lot more number crunching. There’s a reason why our Buyer John declared this one of the biggest McLaren Vale Shiraz deals in ‘Fo history and the proof is in the points…

Awarded 96 points from Halliday, 95 points at the Royal Sydney, Queensland and Melbourne Wine Shows, 95 points from Jeremy Oliver, 95 points from Gourmet Traveller, six gold medals and two trophies - some deals are big but this is just massive. We could easily dust our hands off and call it a day but there’s so much more to this flawless Shiraz than accolades.

Made by the exceptional hands of a well-known 5 red star producer and crafted using old vines, this is a flagship McLaren Vale Shiraz that truly showcases excellence, style and power with every sip. Brimming with distinctive notes of ripe, red berry, spiced plum, dark chocolate and rippling tannins, leading to a silky smooth finish - we've never felt luckier as mof_s to be able to taste this first-hand. In fact, this is so good, we're going to lift the self-imposed ban on the word 'best' (sorry Andre and Chris) because this is truly one of the best McLaren Vale Shiraz deals we've ever done and it's only fair that we let you know.'

Any ideas?

Richard Hamilton Centurion?

My guess is the Chalk Hill Alpha Crucis. But the alcohol and cellaring are off, everything else matches. Maybe the Fo are trying to throw us off. Hamilton price doesn't match and they quote the winecompanion price. Other possibility is Chapel Hill, The Vicar.

That was my guess. But I thought that a number of things didn't match up. But when I've looked again I released I was looking at the 2013 version of this wine.

I think the RH is a good bet.

The Richard Hamilton is Halliday 97 points for 2012. The deal is saying 96.
