Vinomofo Wine Deals

Any recommendations for something decent on VM in the $25-$40/bottle range? I'm a big fan of Mclaren Vale Shiraz/Margs Cab Sauv and Chardonnay but also keen to explore other grapes like Nebbiolo.
Without Blackmarket uncovered it feels like buying blind :(
tjb, are you suggesting "Black Market Uncovered" is no longer operational? Interestingly, when I Google it, I now find a site called "VM Uncovered" which seems designed on a similar basis but has not worked for any of the wine codes I have entered to date. Are we up the creek with uncovering?

Sorry to be off the VM topic, however for Margs Cab Sav and given your price range - I would recommend this sale pack

Does it have to be VM?

Bec Hardy regularly have decent quaffers cheap on their wineshedsale.

Their Undercover and Over the Top is generally well regarded (though I think it needs time, mine have been put to sleep for a few years)

Exactly, that's the site I meant. Has been working initially (2 months ago?) but hasn't been for quite some time.

Thanks, open to any ;) That's an interesting combo, esp with the Moss Wood in it.

Thanks, didn't know and will check it out

Would be interested to hear your thoughts when you try it....
I've just ordered a 6 pack of this

I reckon this could be one of those rare import bargains on VM. Have never tried this wine but its a South African white belnd predominantly Chenin Blanc with some Verdelho and Viognier and Im expecting a rich 'reserve' style due to the time spent in oak and on lees. This producer keeps coming up in international publications as one to watch and the wine itself and the vintage have very good reviews. It is also genuinely about 40% cheaper at this price than elsewhere here and the UK.

I used mxncb $30 off code and CR to bring it down to ~$34 a bottle.

Do you order much from VinoMofo? I see a lot of deals but where they don't disclose the wine so was hesitant to buy. But if you recommend them I might give it a crack.
a lot of their wines are repeats so you can often google the blurb for a pretty good idea on what they are (or google will reference a prior black market deal, then search the old number on here).

With regards to the black market site not working, not sure if that's a result of someone not keeping it updated, or VM finding a way to stop their wines being identified. (The latter is my assumption).

I used to order a bit, now I am more discerning in what I order. They keep repeating their offerings with newer vintages so can be guessed easily.
Just drop a request here to uncover, and I am sure somebody will be able to.

As at the moment, I can't get excited about anything on the VM site, but they do come up with some pleasant surprises from time to time.

Following on from my post above.
To find out this wine

I googled a couple of different paragraphs from the blurb.

This paragraph

When one of our favourite winemakers in Victoria’s North East asks us to come around and taste a few bottles, we come running.
Led me to this previous vintage offering

The name of the wine is slightly different, however the tasting notes are identical.

From this, I googled the top paragraph

He’s a gun with the usual suspects from the region - sangiovese, pinot grigio and, of course, prosecco

which then arrived me at this

Which identified the likely wine as "Wood Park Shiraz Cabernet".

I believe a earlier post mentioned the domain name was up for renewal if anyone was interested. Obviously no one took it up. Might have been @DLR who mentioned it.

I believe that is the website that was offered to be taken over as the domain name was up for the renewal Unwraps – Wine deals, reveal under wrap wines

There is also a website "Vinomofo Blackmarket Uncovered" https://nameless-fortress-21759.herokuapp.com/vm that just gone down for the unknown reason. I believe that was the website that most used for VM blackmarket deals sleuthing.

I'm guessing there was an API audit following the VM data breach and a firewall dropped in front of some APIs which weren't secured quite as they were supposed to be - and suddenly info that was supposed to be internally accessible only actually became so

Interesting insight, thanks.

They never replied to my query about what data of mine was leaked.
