Vinomofo Wine Deals

... and my order seems to be stuck in Aus Post somewhere
Same. Now 18 days since I ordered. I contacted Vinomnofo about this today and they say the delay is because the item was 'a pre-sale item'. I called BS as Aus Post has had the item for 10 days and it's been listed as 'delayed' for at least 4 days. Vinomofo haven't reponsed further.

Has anyone had the  pleasure of dealing with MyCellars and Aramex?

Missed a delivery and then tried for weeks to get a redelivery, it never showed up. Then they tried to deliver again on a completely random day about a week after my last redelivery request. Emailed customer service and asked them for help, they literally told me "we tried to deliver it to you on x day but nobody home".

Eventually I gave up dealing with Aramex, went back to MyCellars and wrote them an email explaining everything. The owner of the company wrote back and told me he understood and refunded me. I assume he gets it all the time, will avoid Aramex like the plague.

If you ask Gary nicely he may send orders via Aus Post, he has for me in the past. But I just let default Aramex delivery happen these days as I'm home a lot and they just dump and run anyway. Occasionally they might even ring the door bell, but usually my security camera tells me they have been.
Nicks also will use Aus Post instead of default Aramex if you ask in delivery instructions.

Thank you for the advice, will keep in mind if I order from them again but for now I'm a bit weary.

So I received my recent order from VM which turned out to be The Old Faithful BT Shiraz 2018

Opened it two days ago for dinner and drank it over the last two nights.

I thought it was one of the better offerings from VM. In fact I'd say it is the best McLaren Vale shiraz I ever bought from VM (pending Sharktooth 2016 tasting)

It is medium to full bodied, quite elegant and at the same has a power of a shiraz. Quite forward with dark fruits as you would expect but has complexity and bitter "chocolaty", beautiful tannins and not too oaky at all. Was even better on the second night!

Very drinkable now and probably suitable for medium term cellaring.

I got a six of this wine on yiur recommendation back when Chonka's magic code was doing the rounds. I'm no expert, but it is a lovely drop. I give it the wdge over the Sharktooth. Thanks for the tip.

I had a months long fight with Aramex this year over their refusal to pay for a broken bottle of clonakilla SV. They basically said I should have insured separately and, by implication, I was lucky they only broke one (of a 22 bottle lot).

The lack of a way to engage with a human beyond the obfuscating and illogical complaints person in the relevant area office about how shoddy it was caused me even more annoyance (and suggested they are so bad they have to hide).

I would LOVE IT if everyone I knew boycotted them where possible, as that's what I told them I'd try to achieve... end rant now, breathing.

Interesting. I thought one of the reasons wine merchants use Aramex is that insurance is included in the prices. Might be out of date on that.

Pre-Covid I had numerous issues with Fastway over 10+years and several local franchisees, often due to missed deliveries and difficulties getting re-deliveries or getting service/goods when you went to the depot to collect. Some franchisees were much better than others though. There were many other issues too, including leaving a card in the letter box at the footpath without showing up on the security camera attempting delivery at the front door. I avoided merchants using Fastway if they wouldn't use Aus Post for my orders.

But since Covid hit, Fastway/Aramex and most other courier deliveries (liquor and other) to detached residential addresses are usually left without signature, just a photo of the goods left on the front porch, bell-ringing optional. Maybe illegal, but this actually suits me better and although I prefer Aus Post and getting notified of a 2-hour delivery window, I don't avoid Aramex as much for wine deliveries.

In Victoria it's clear - Products missing or damaged in transit (CAV link) - damage is seller's responsibility. Insurance is a donation.

Also if you use a PO Box or Aus Post Parcel collect address Qantas Wine will use Aus Post instead of Fastway/Aramex.

I wish I'd known that when I didn't take the insurance offer on a Langtons "buy now" delivery last year, they refused a refund on the broken bottle that their own in-house Endeavour courier broke.

I never take the insurance option on deliveries from Nicks and they have always promptly organised re-supply or refund of occasional broken items. If you've ever seen the way Nicks pack their shipments, you will know breakages are rare and require consummate skill by a rough handler to achieve.

I admit my issue was because it was a delivery I arranged myself from ADL Aramex and I used a service where they tried to disclaim liability. The issue became that their contract terms didn't do what they wanted, and they had insufficient professional pride as couriers to say 'we broke it so we should pay', so they stonewalled and dissembled until I gave up. I think I still took up much more of their time than would have been the amount payment I asked for at the outset so at least I made their stance uncommercial in addition to it being shabby as hell. I also reported them to SA and ACT consumer affairs. Good times!

Ok my little tale of woe, I have just had my second cough delivery overseen by the consummate professionals HDS. Ordered a six pack of red from VM a few weeks back, was following the tracking and read the magic words "Onboard for delivery today" and saw that delivery had been made mid-afternoon, perfect! Problem is they hadn't delivered it to my address😐. I could see from the photo available on the tracking link that it hadn't even been delivered in my street (or anywhere I recognised in my locale). Needless to say I raised a "help and support request" with Oz Post which just reiterated that The parcel you have been waiting for has now been delivered to a safe location at your address, (we call this a “Safe Drop”).
To cut a long and tedious story short after pursuing the matter it took HDS four days to collect the parcel and a total of ten days to finally deliver it to my address, never mind leaving it on the pavers outside my workshop rather than a couple of metres to my front door the d*ckheads didn't even bother to retape the box which had been ripped open by the ahem, original recipient. Not impressed, contacted Oz Post again to complain to find that the case had now been closed, nice work...
