I agree. The $20 voucher sounds a bit like Optus free data…The right thing to do would be to substitute another vintage.
I haven’t received any news from mine yet…

Unlike Qantas they are at least returning the money. They should also compensate anyone that wasted more than 1 hour of their lives with nothing to show for it
My preference is to buy wine at 75% off and I would have told them that for free, but I still appreciate the bottle of Mt EdelstoneUnlike Qantas they are at least returning the money.
I think this might be an exercise to research your buying preferences.
Wow, I would be nuclear-level pissed by that. It would be the baitiest bait advertising ever to get a person legitimately expecting an actual $200-plus wine for $60 only to pull it in these circs. Their system can plainly ensure they're not oversold. I'd defo threaten going to the ACCC for bait advertising. At the least I'd ask for a detailed and satisfactory explanation as to how it could be that their system accepted the sale only for it to so magically evaporate. Have the St Henris and Quintets been similarly affected? $20 is a rubbish opening compo offer.Yep, I got the same email, can't say I was overly surprised.
I had the same experience. Tried the third day, it improved significantly!Mmmmmm, finally got my hands on a half dozen of the 2016 Sharktooth Shiraz that has been discussed quite a bit by our esteemed members. Pulled the cork last night, used an aerator, poured it out and gave it a swirl and first impression: underwhelming would be an understatement. Thin, quite acidic (to the point of astringency), a distinct absence of fruit, really rather insipid. Decanted and left for a couple of hours, marginally improved but to my humble palate there is a lack of generosity and "drinkability" that surprises me, I'll revisit it tonight and hope for it to rise like Lazarus from the grave but at this stage I'm contemplating a return, YMMV of course .
That is a good news but there are no way a bottle last 3 days in my house!I had the same experience. Tried the third day, it improved significantly!
So I assume you didn't concur with Ned Goodwin (Halliday 95 points) that is was as excellent delivery of vinous hedonism? And the dark fruit flavours didn't ooze along the seams not to mention a vanillin char marauding about the palate...Mmmmmm, finally got my hands on a half dozen of the 2016 Sharktooth Shiraz that has been discussed quite a bit by our esteemed members. " This is an excellent, unashamed exhibition of all that the Vale is capable of when the fruit is prime and
attention is paid to showcasing it in unequivocal lavishness. The oak is split across American and French sources, the majority from the forrner. A vanillin char marauds about the palate, at once tidying up the dark fruit flavours oozing along the seams, while conferring a cedar to mocha authority. An excellent delivery of vinous hedonism.

I thought the 2016 improved after a few hours, but the 2017 is something else - very much how you describe the 2016. Simply thin, flat with a large aroma of sulfur compounds that don't seem to dissipate. Undrinkable, disappointing.Mmmmmm, finally got my hands on a half dozen of the 2016 Sharktooth Shiraz that has been discussed quite a bit by our esteemed members. There is something fishy going on with VM Sharktooth. I have 2017 Sharktooth from a different source but haven’t tried it. But I tried 2015 Sharktooth from a different source I thought it was very good. Here is a review for 2017. I might give it a go on the weekend.I thought the 2016 improved after a few hours, but the 2017 is something else - very much how you describe the 2016. Unfortunately, I have a dozen 2015 also on the way now.
