Vinomofo Wine Deals

Forgive me, Olympicwiz, but is this just in reference to this vintage? Weren't you a fan of the 2018?
I had some 2015, 2018 and 2019. 2019 was probably the best out of three. But I still could not get the hype and fanfare around it. Last time I grudgingly picked up a dozen of 2019 from BWS at $20 less 10% for 6+ purely to have something quaffable for $18 around the house. Just not crazy about it hence won't pay anything over $20. I picked up a couple of Wynns BL CS 2021 from those crazy CellarDoor mega bargain $125 mystery 6 packs - but haven't tried them yet.

At any rate I just don't get much excitement when I open a bottle of it. Purely subjective opinion of course.

You would prefer the RSR at roughly the same price?

I probably would tbh as RSR is a bit more robust to my liking. And I would definitely prefer Leconfield and Parkers Estate Terra Rossa over Wynns.
This is a great illustration of how tastes can differ... love it!

I've been really happy at being able to get various vintages of wynns black for $20-25 in recent times. I think it's a delicious drop for that price. I've certainly paid more for worse. I've got RSR, Leconfield and Parker TR in the cellar and don't like them anything like as much. The RSR in particular I find weird, albeit in a vaguely ok way but not one that will get any more of my money.

The Fo's are flogging the Juniper Cornerstone Wilyabrup Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 again at $39.90/bt.

Seems expensive. Juniper makes yummy cab, and it's an old favourite of mine ever since a visit there in the 00's but if you want a really good CS can get Wynns BL for much cheaper.... heh

Langton's Vintage Chart rates Margs Cabs a 8/10 so not as bad as the eastern states for the 2017 vintage. However at 40 bucks, no from me.

Opened a bottle of '19 Parker 95 Block last night… very moorish plonk.
I have no idea where it came from.. was this a 'fo product ?

Yeah, I have some and have NFI where from! So many deals... looking forward to necking some when it has a little more years on it

Ed: yep Langtons Coonawarra pack Jan last year.
Are these packs good value? I don't have any storage so would be looking to sample some different cabernets (recognising they might improve with age) with a view to develop my palate.

I remember now…ding ding ding….was stuffed around by Endeavour with delivery and vowed to never touch them again...

They absolutely can be excellent value, but equally Langtons and like all of them they cab sell stuff with questionable rrps and ratings. I buy them semi-frequently when a good pack comes up at what seems a sensible price.

The Langtons confidential packs can be a steal, particularly at sale time and particularly if they've been decoded such as by good people on this forum.

There are strict rules about referrals in non-referral threads. I think this is actually the thread you need - VinoMofo referral - literally any VM member can refer you, or themselves (unless they closed that down).
Is there a trick to posting in the referral thread? I'm getting a little message saying I haven't got sufficient posting privileges. Maybe I'm too new?

Edit: worked it out, yep too green. Guess I'll just chill here instead and enjoy the wine :)
