Hi guys, figured i'd use your collective wisdom. Are there any Rieslings that come up that are worth having.
Knowing that I can get decent Rieslings in the $13-20 a bottle mark and Grosset in the $30-50s for special occasions/cellaring. I am intrigued by the offers but never had a crack (case buys seem so large unless you already love the wine) and it seems the effort goes into discovering the red offers more than white. Figured I'd see what the thoughts were here.
Thanks
Vovo
In that price range I'd personally recommend West Cape Howe Riesling, easily found for ~$16, 96 points from Halliday (personally feel the 2013 is better)Hi guys, figured i'd use your collective wisdom. Are there any Rieslings that come up that are worth having.

I know it isn't Vinomofo relevant, but I'd back it against most in that price category.

Yes rocket, both cases returned with no problems whatsoever in crediting. How can you go wrong with a policy like that, you can't. However, after such a great speil, i would have expected a hell of a lot better from the pair of witchmounts that retailed from 38 to 42. Crikey, the normal retailling wines that sell in the mid twenties i have bought (for $8-12) have seen a few stunners, namely willoughby park, glenlofty, maverick twins and sieber gsm.- so you are bound to get a dodgy or two. i look forward to your comments since we all inhabit different taste worlds.
Does anyone know what the Malbec/Cabernet Blend is from Geographe? $27 down to $8.10? Thanks!
The vinomofo BLACK MARKET DEAL Malbec Blend 2011 advertised today at $8.10 down from $27 and described as:
'The 2010 was one of my bargain buys of the year and I have to say that the 2011 is even better again. If you’ve got Bordeaux taste but you aren’t driving around in a Bentley and realise that the real shiz is expensive, here’s the wine for you.
From a fantastic WA producer, who we obviously can’t name, we’ve gotten our hands on some cases of this stunning red. Direct from them to your cellar with a little stop over in our warehouse. This elegant, lively and plush blend of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet gives you a taste of France at a fraction of the cost. Imagine plump, fresh dark plums, cherries, cedar and earthy tones. It’s impressive depth and length proves it’s a first class vino in every respect. A truly legendary winery worthy of its 5 red star status has brought the goods, and we’re just so tickled to supply it to you at such an awesome price.'
Is likely the Capel Vale cellar exclusive.
It's a genuine bargain from its original price and a label many would recognise but I wouldn't buy it. I visited the Margaret River area in June this year and visited Capel Vale. Found most of their wines to be very disappointing as compared to others in the same area. Capel Vale was the only vineyard I did not make at purchase at.
I like cab and I have the last run too and agree that its good!Interested to hear if anyone got or tried the new Old Money cav sav? I actually quite liked the last run, still got a couple of bottles. Nothing to write home about, but a decent $15 wine that a few people I shared it with enjoyed.
St George is a nice drop, shouldn't be disappointed.
That's what I wanted to hear.
Just couldn't quite pull the trigger last time, but could this time around.
