Yes I grabbed a case of 2012 and was very happy with it, esp for under $9. Will grab a case of this for sure :) 2013 was a great year for Barossa

Very likely.
I got the 2012 last Dec 2014 also contraband
A very good drop and value for money. Still have heaps left and now give others a chance. ;)
i bought the cab blend and the gsm, and both are really good. i give the nod a little to the gsm for added spice, but both ridiculous value. i am tempted by the mt avoca and had three of us in, but i feel that the glenlofty that i have will cut a swaythe thru all many pyreness shirazes and hence resisted.....it was tough tho.

and in a fortuitous case of good timing, i big thankyou for posting rocket, i went to VM and there was the contraband at 'selling fast'. I came, i saw, i spent my money and my other two mates will be mighty happy....it's all in the timing! Not saying the mt avoca growers shiraz wouldn't have been good, but estate grown stuff is definately better !

the reviews for this are simply ridiculous so i am having a big night with pete and russ tomorrow and i wanted to buy this $22 and see what all the hype is about.....the '13 Marl, incidentally with the same hill of grace Henschke owners, but i believe a different part of the family. Expectations for a $22'er won't hurt so much as a $65er.

Hentley Farm Hentley Farm The Marl Shiraz
[/h]
Hentley Farm is a boutique, single estate vineyard that focuses on producing premium quality single-estate and single-block wines reflective of their exceptional Barossan terrior. 'The Marl' takes its name from the fruit grown on red clay loam over marl (a friable earthy deposit consisting of clay and limestone) which reduces the water and nutrient availability producing low crops and rich flavours. True to the style, the Shiraz is layered with berry fruits with hints of dark chocolate, earth and subtle spice. While full-bodied the palate is soft with lovely lingering finish.

Do let us know what you think. :)

I remember there was much chatter about the Maverick Twins a little while ago too so I've taken the plunge this time. Thanks, folks.

Hey everyone,

First post.

Love your work!

Love all the recommendations and reveals in this thread, really helpful and appreciated.

I just grabbed a case of the Barossa GSM, can't wait.

I hope to contribute and be involved in the future, cheers *raises glass*

Hey Bee, I have quite a few 2012 Hentley Farm 'The Marl' Shiraz which was rated above the 2013, haven't tried any yet so look forward to hearing what you think. Was going to give it a few years in the cellar before cracking one open, but according to a few sources it is a gem for a $20 bottle. Glad you grabbed some Maverick Twins 2013, I am pretty sure it was you who originally put me onto the 2012 last year.

99pts from Hookey! Not sure I have seen him rate anything over 97pts (which I have in my cellar) I always wanted some Grace in my stash but will never have the disposable $$ for it to come to fruition.

Perhaps you should try just one Marl and report back.
