Heritage and the sites selling ex-Heritage wines (winesforlife, cellarit) were for me the equivalent of Vinomofo for many years. All those you mention were great wines, for many years Nefertari, Nefertiti were my quaffers, and superb value they were!

Bringing it back to this thread though it does show theres always someone willing to sell the wines others have mispriced, but for the right price!

The current equivalent is Amon-Ra and Anaperenna. Price range $50 ~ $100.
If those are your quaffers what would be for special occassions? :)

Is that Black Market 2012 Victorian Shiraz @$7.50 (from $25) the six foot six or perhaps.... New vintage of glenlofty?

I see that the Lou Miranda "Lion's Mark" sparkling Shiraz is on offer $12.50 per bottle down from $29. Any thoughts on this wine?

I've not had it. But I can tell you that its been offered many times before and clearly they can't sell it. Anything which is outstanding sells out quickly and is often not re-offered.

That's the Capel Vale back again today too? Margaret River Cab Sav. They 'sell out' then they're back again a few days later. So many repeats I'm getting confused!

Opened our first bottle a couple of days ago. Quite fruity and one of the better sparkling Shiraz's we've had and we've tried quite a few. Good value for money.

great comments here. when i chatted with the gals at lous winery concerning their Golden Lion shiraz, their comments made it a buy. maybe i am a sucker for a smooth talker but the 2013 golden lion shiraz is very good. the sparkling shiraz did come up in my conversation and to be honest, i never knew it had been to VM before. Considering my gut feel, i am not surprised by the positive recommendation for it....similarly, doing my own homework leads me to think that this sparkler has had a name change from leone old vine shiraz....if i can remember from the chat a few weeks ago, i believe the sparkling shiraz is not too sweet as well..

in some other news, amelia park fans will be aware that three recent offerings hit medals at the london wine challenge. the 2012 reserve shiraz won a gold and a trophy, the 2012 cabernet merlot won a gold and a trophy, and the 2013 cabernet merlot won a bronze.......it is a nice winery after all !

New deal:

mof_ SECRET DEAL GSM 2013

$40 down to $18

Described as:

"Introducing a dark, rich and very juicy Mclaren Vale GSM. This is no ordinary quaffer either, we've levelled up in quality here and are proud to present one of the region's finest.

It's a blend we love, from a region we love made by a producer we love - clearly, there's a whole lot to love about this deal. There's a palpable sense of confidence and class to this wine. There are brooding dark fruits that plumb great depths while it retains such a precise structure. It's easy to get carried away by this wine which is what we love about it but let's break it down - this is quite simply a stunning wine that drinks beautifully.

We could tell you about the pedigree of this producer, the soil, site and clonal selection, blending and oak handling etc. but let's be honest - it's what's in the glass that really matters. And this mof_s, is a matter you might want to attend to urgently."

Any ideas? Haselgrove?

If it's Haselgrove Switch then some AFFers would have tried it before. Any tasting impressions?

"On top of this the Haselgrove ‘SWITCH” GSM was selected by QANTAS to be served on First Class and Business Class flights.
Limited quantitiies are only available at Cellar Door (and the online store) or if you are lucky you may find a bottle or 2 in retailers around the country."

That was my thinking. But only the 2012 is listed on the Haselgrove web site. And many of the details such as Alch content and drinking life don't match details as provided on this wine from here:

https://www.qantasepiqure.com.au/Haselgrove-Switch-GSM-2013/p/HASSWIGSM13

https://www.wineboss.com.au/Order.aspx?ref=w33&iref=ne32&wsrc=wba

Halliday note/score matches, a/v noted as 14.5%, drink to 2030, VM usually take off 1-2 years.
They've had quite a few Haselgrove wines before, I'm pretty confident of the identity.
