Vinomofo Wine Deals

I thought the Pinot might have been the 2012 Even Keel by Polperro Wines, but their site now shows the 2013 vintage (abet with the 2012 photo and details).

2009 d'Arenberg was on last year for around $30 a bottle. So if this is the 2010 it is remarkably cheap and I'm in for 6 cases...anyone confirm?

d'Arenberg or maybe Chapel Hill the chosen house block which has been in previous premium mix packs of mof_'s.

Problem is as AC pointed out neither could hardly be referred to as Boutique producers.

I had an awesome Sunday morning at d'Arenberg a few years back as they opened earlier that anyone else in the region, short drive up to Chapel Hill and the AWESOME Samuels Gorge next door.

I've had great experiences at all three of these places as well. Would go back anytime.

d'Arenberg's hardly a "boutique producer" though. And the 2010 has a bunch of high pointed reviews (e.g. JH 96)

Agree it doesn't fit as a "Boutique Producer"

For the experienced VMers do VM ever not disclose high pointed reviews on secret deals to protect a wine's identity? I've only been buying from VM for a short period of time

Didn't we have Quorum (Adelaide Winemakers) shiraz before although 2011 vintage.
Possible it's going back to cellars for 2010.

Some of the same buzzwords (especially "grippy") in the Huon Hooke review:

  • HuonHooke.com - Huon Hooke : 89 pts
Wine - Huon HookeVery deep red/purple with a youthful, bright colour, and a strongly pepperminty aroma. A big, bold and slightly grippy tannic wine with straightforward flavours of mint and bold blackberry. It's quite oaky. The tannins are ruling the roost at present. It needs time. And red meat! Cellar.
