Vinomofo Wine Deals

No way would this be Dead Arm, too much pedigree to be sold at 70% off! It has an Outstanding Langtons Classification.

+1
That's right. No need to do 70% for Dead Arm. 50% off and would be snapper up.

Don't think it's Chapel Hill Road Block or House Block either. Both are produced for "Scarce Earth Project" and of limited quantity.
VM no mention of limited stocks.

Certainly could be Boutique but it is corked not screw unless VM has made a mistake, reviews are not that exciting. The same people make the Old Gentlemen @ $80 is not worth the money and was sold by VM for $24 ish ???? and then probably a bit too dear in my eyes.

VM confirmed screwcap via Twitter and Broker, look like we have a quorum.

Amelia 2013 Cab-Merlot arrived today. Compared 2012 opened last night with 2013 decanted a couple of hours ago. Not a perfect test (a day difference in opening and potential bottle-shock for today's arrival) but thought I'd report. The 2013 a bit cold when opened and had a sharp nose and a bit of acid. Was a bit worried. After an hour in decanter there was considerable change and after two hours Mrs Violin was invited to try both blind and describe them (Mrs Violin has no interest in wine other than drinking it but has an excellent palate). She advised that they were both very similar and had trouble telling any difference (and was very proud to find they were simply different vintages). I think the 2013 is a little 'tighter'. All in all - I'm happy drinking both now after a couple of hours open - and very, very happy about the price. We'll be kicking ourselves as the last bottle is finished just when it is hitting peak in a couple/few more years.

I opened a bottle of Amelia Park Cabernet Merlot 2013 last night too...I agree that some time in the decanter made all the difference. Can't wait to drink another tonight...Delicious!!

Heritage Wines reads like quite a story with some very lucky punters picking up cheap wine and others doing their shirts.

It is hardly a surprise that this boom has created a number of Australian wine investment companies, a trio of whom - Australian Portfolio Wines (portfoliowines.com.au), Heritage Fine Wines (heritagefinewines.com.au), Wine Orb (wineorb.com.au) - have employed decidedly questionable high pressure sales tactics. They also have disturbing links to UK scamsters who have moved to Australia to seek their fortune. See below for Something fishy about Oz wine investment companies? (UK scamsters and Australian wine investment companies) (Posted 5th April 2004).

Nostalgia to those "touched" by Heritage Fine Wines - PAIN and PLEASURES

The Quorum looks to me to be a cork so something amiss ?
. At sixty five a bottle, I am expecting a lot from this quorum.....never heard of it till yesterday, but the story is a little reminiscent of the boys from glenlofty who put out their own product....time will tell.....i also thought that the only reviews available, those of the 11 shiraz and the 10 inaugural cab-shiraz blend read pretty well......for those who missed out, don't worry.it,s like a new boyfriend or girlfriend............the next is always better, so wait for more bargains. You think the flood is slowing, then Andre pulls his finger out of the Dutch dike and it's on again.....bargains everywhere. So much wine, so little time..............................to drink em all.

Is it my imagination, or is VM posting their daily specials later and later in the day? It is now after 3pm and still no email..... a little lame for a company who is supposed to be the biggest thing in online selling/retailing since sliced cheese!
Also, I agree with a previous post: very few "genuine gems" - all the daily specials, black market deals, contra blah blah, fall off the back of the truck thingies etc, are getting bland and boring. Doesn't really feel as if there are truly great bargains any more......
What is going on?

I remain guarded...mostly due to the Hungerford Hill Shiraz that was the $65 down to $19.50 deal last week and was a disappointment. Didn't taste like any Hunter Shiraz I've had before, and wasn't to my taste at all, so sent it back for the Quorum in return. Still, the Hungerford Cab Sav at the same deal was a winner and will take restraint to keep the hands off the two I put down.

More likely to be technology related - how quickly their provider churns out the emails, or how quickly your email provider processes them. Plus your position in the list (e.g. #1 or #100,000). I'd say they're automatically triggered to start going out at 11am daily. FYI mine arrived at 11.06am today, 11.03am yesterday. Yahoo email address.
