Hewitson Private Cellar Shiraz Mourvedre?

Looks like this one's back again, can anyone that bought last time confirm that it's the Hewitson?

I'd be keen to hear the verdict from those that have tried it too; pretty tempted but $75/bottle is a big commitment.

Yes It's the Hewitson 2010 But have not tried it yet.

Let me just say flyinfish that we all have different tastes. Why should you be disappointed when you haven't even tried it. I don't mean to be tough, but I did say it was good. Maybe you and I desire the sweeter molecules and as AC described, it's the style....now, that leads me to the Churchview wines from west oz. Did anyone buy any ? I absolutely loved their gsm, I think it was their st johns range. before buying it, I shot of an email and got the most wonderful of replies describing how their winemaker wanted to make it a little different to the standard Australian style. Rhone was distinctly mentioned by the manager, and it is probably the case that the rosemount is a much drier style of gsm than the st hjohns was. nevertless flyinfish, they are all very good wines. To the chardonnay from churchview, absolutely remarkable and as one good mate that I shared a bot with, possibly the best chady he has ever had. Big statement, great wine none the less. Now for the Churchview piece de resistance, their late picked Riesling. I cannot believe that an eight per cent, late fermented Riesling could ever taste this good. dollar for dollar, this is the pick of the 3 I have bought, but they were an amazing triple treat....could be the cold, but I pulled out another..as you do....the landings cabernet sauvignon 2012...for a wine that has mixed reviews on the net, I loved it. Not an absolute stunner, but I would be more than happy to pay $22 for it.....as it is, about a twelve bucker from memory. Go Djokovic !

Is the current BM deal Margaret Chardy 2013 $35/$10.50 the Churchview St John's you mention above Beefarmer?

Might be tempted now it's free shipping with the VIM Rob Bowen Cab Sav 12.
Anyone tasted anything from Robert Bowen before? Bit of a gamble as Ray Jordan tends to be generous with his ratings.

I also can't figure out where they get the rrpt of $60 as it's not shown on the producers website?

Free shipping today, will the VIM Robert Bowen Cab Sauv 2012 enjoy free shipping too?

Thanks for the link. Its amazing to see some wines that have got fantastic reviews from HH lately rate so poorly in JH's Chardy challenge. Clairault 2012 and Vasse Felix Filius are two examples...both of which I found to be very good.

Just looking through the details, it seems JH isn't even involved in the scoring. Judges from the 2014 challenge are here: Judges | James Halliday Chardonnay Challenge

Obviously not.....but I did by the shiraz from the same trio yesterday....had a ssb from them, a 2010 or 2011...it was stunning, hence the buy in the shiraz......i would assume this chardy would he good....crikes, its w.a. Isn't it

Checked your Spam folders (just in case)?

I'm going to guess you didn't drop off the list due to poor ongoing purchase history. :)

Haha, yeah I am still certainly on the list. Must of been a technical issue, checked spam folder, nothing unfortunately.....but I am doing dry July (purchasing only) so it might be some sort of divine intervention!! ;)

I took the gamble - a sommelier friend of mine rates his wines. We'll find out!
Looks like the producer is a little slow on the website front - listing as "Available 2015". Made up price? ;)

From Shild estate facebook page...
Does all match up seemingly well
James Halliday Wine Companion Rating.

94 Points for 2013 Barossa Valley GMS.
The vivid crimson colour sends a message of the equally bright palate, with its synergistic and unusually harmonious blend, the gamut of red fruits retaining brightness and shape (and no confection). Exceptional value, one of the bargains of the year.

Not my words but sounds ok.

Schild Estate GMS 2013

This is bangin' for the price. I loved the 2012 and perhaps maybe this a little more.

A blend of Grenache, Mourvedre and Shiraz (47/27/26). This is super slurpable and the fruit is juicy. Each element steps up and does its bit. The Grenache brings pretty aromas, raspberry fruits and spice. Shiraz provides dark berry fruit and the juicy factor with the Mourvedre adding structure and length. The Mourvedre for me adds that extra bit of sparkle on the finish. Oh, and there's no oak in sight!

I'm still impressed this is on the shelves for $15 and is a no brainer for bargain hunters.

Very good.

I'm in for the $8.25 Contraband Deal. Hope it's the Schild Estate. The ones I've had from the Fo before have been very good.

Yeah, agree. The Schild stuff in the past has been awesome for the price. I'm in here too. That 1 click buy gets me every time.

The 2012 Schild GMS was delicious. I'd be nabbing the 2013 deal but I don't want to risk it arriving while I'm away. If it appears again after I return, and if I haven't filled the car with produce from the wineries of Victoria while travelling, then I'll jump on it.
