Vinomofo Wine Deals

2012 Annies lane copper trail shiraz for $44.90 a bottle today. Says the retail is normally $80. Has anyone ever paid this price? I know i buy this wine most years and have never paid over $45, often under $40.

Very poor deal from the Fo.

And appears the Fo are being deceptive again. The manufacturers suggested price is $59.99 NOT $80:

I think it's a decent deal. 2012 was a good vintage and I haven't seen sub-$40 deals on Copper Trail for a few years now.

Seems a great deal of TWE stock being offloaded via sales this year

Nope definitely not. Spent ~20min matching the score/%/yr before buying, and can still see it on my news feed...

Presume you mean this one, which does indeed seem to match up: mof_ SECRET Deal GSM 2011 - Facebook - Red Wine

Yep, this is the usual price. Proves the Fo's price is very poor and not up to their usual standards of price discounting.

I really don't understand this wording. VM don't promise to be the cheapest bar none, and this isn't a "secret" deal either.

Your argument seems to be that if you can get the same discounted label pushed by some other store at the same price, then somehow it's "poor" value?

In my opinion, that just means there's two stores selling at a decent price.

Dont pay over $40 for this wine.

Where can you get the 2012 at $40 or less?

I'm not totally sure, but there are similarities for the Maverick Twins...
*Edit; if it is, going back through this thread apparently the 2012 and 2013 were stunners, but 2011 wasn't a great year for the Barossa so this one may not be a star.

Not to mention, you can drink a bottle, and if you don't like it, return the rest of the case for a full refund - no questions asked, that's pretty good security for someone like me that can't afford to by that much wine I then don't want to drink! I've had a few that I haven't liked, but if its still good for the price, I'll drink it. There's only been 1 wine out of about 20 I sent back because I literally couldn't drink it.

Any ideas on the McLaren vale cabernet? Is it the new vintage of the Haselgrove Protector? I cant find much online. The last vintage was rated 90 points by Halliday, whereas todays secret deal gets 95???

It says restocked. Previous speculation was that it was the Pertaringa Rifle & Hunt Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

I think you are right.
It says cork and Haselgrove Protector is not.

Alcohol is 14.5%
Rifle & Hunt Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Aromas of rosemary, violets, mint and spice with sweeter notes of blackberries and orange peel ...

Kate of VM says:
aromas of mulberrry and flashes of violet hint at what lies beneath.
The palate is as intense as you'd hoped; full bodied with luscious blackberry, blackcurrant and herbal spice

Great, thanks. Anyone buy it and try it? Picked up some 2013 Killermans run cabernet from McLaren Vale that I am loving so curious as to how this would compare
