I thought the 2012 chardonnay was terrible if you don't mind !

and I only received botts in a BM mixed case.....

Thanks beefarmer (and Steady), I'm a big fan of their SV and was tempted by the recent offering of straight shiraz but held back because my cellar is bursting with latter... However, my neighbour did buy so will have to twist his arm when that arrives.. Nearly bit on the 'lofty cab sav today but had to question how many of their wines can keep punching above their weight. Now leaning towards the Mt Avoca...The ace pack is also tempting but far too many whites for my liking.. Anyway, I do appreciate your feedback on the shiraz and now look forward to sampling some..

Wow, impatient, loose the hounds! I have a tacit agreement with VM not to post identifications outright on public forums. Knowing what it is not is educational as to what it might be. But, suitably chastised I'll slink back to my lair.

For those not second-guessing my motives or being too impatient to look, the clues I promised were delivered as promised in my prior post, quoted above.
But not quite as plain as I intended due to the negative vibes.

A bit of a sentimental purchase too as my father planted vines for them (different variety) that were so good they made him an offer he couldn't refuse. That put a bit of a spark in his impending retirement.

Only useless to those not smart enough to work it out. Or who think they deserve to be spoon-fed instantly on demand.

One of the main reasons I charge a fairly insignificant subscription fee (cup of coffee a month) is to keep out people like that. It's been quite successful.

If you took up the offer of a week's trial with hassle-free refund you might be in a position to comment after looking at what is there and how it operates as a niche community. There is a lot more than VinoMofo deals.
My site is a retirement hobby, not a business, I don't need any more subscribers, in fact it's getting close to where I'll suspend new subscriptions for a while until some drop off.

If you had shown a little patience and played along it would all have been clear by now.

I don't feel bound by "rules" about cryptic clues "set" by a small impatient self-entitled group.

Some deals are easy to work out, some aren't, this is one of the latter.

If he didn't want to be accused of promoting his business he could have:

1) Joined AFF under a different name which was not so obviously linked to his business.

2) Actually provided the names of any wines, rather than a few crumbs/hints which in turn are designed to lead people to his website (which he has previously clearly identified).

It is worth a visit to their cellar door. I enjoyed my visit their about 2 years ago. But note the prices at the cellar door/online for the wines compared to the VM prices.

Why would I hide? As I said, it's a hobby, not a business, the fee keeps away those who think everything on the internet should be free. Actually, about 10% of members have free subscriptions, being friends or those who have reached a threshold number of posts on the Forum.
I've been active on Australian Wine Forums since about 1997 before starting my own site in about 2002, and then Forum in October 2010 and now have over 7,000 posts on that Forum. Fifty here since March is miniscule, I'm retired and have plenty of time for wine stuff.
Until fairly recently I was still the most prolific poster on the Auswine Forum even after leaving it more than five years.

Exactly - we may or may not have visited and then bought online....
Worth doing really because some of the varietals were horrible, but luckily enough the one we enjoyed was the one featured on vinomofo
