Vinomofo Wine Deals

I think the new Secret Deal $50-$22.50 is the Fox Gordon Hannah's Swing, I am pretty sure the similar one last week but a Cab Sav (which is on it's way) was the Louis from Fox Gordon.

Here you go....think you are right!

Gotta love the Red Bigot, I subscribe to his site!

Anyone know the current Adelaide Hills Cabernet 2011 black market deal? Sounds like something i would like but i cant work it out. Bird in hand hits the price point, comments and fact they have sold via VM before but none of the technical details.

Does anyone rate the Duck Sauce pinot noir? The 2013 was released today. It's a private label made for Vinomofo, from Yarra Valley. $15/bottle ($90/6pk) which is reasonable if quality is better than regular wines around this price point.

I was wondering the same thing myself :)

The 2011 was okay - a lighter style, not much body, but sufficiently drinkable from what I remember.

They used to advertise it as a $30 wine, but I think they got told off as it was never actually sold for $30.

The new Duck Sauce is from the Yarra Valley so it is a bit of an unknown. I've got a bottle of 2011 in my cellar from a mixed dozen but I haven't tried it yet. I think it was from the Mornington Peninsula. With some of the other Pinot deals that have been around I don't think I would be taking a gamble on the 2013 Duck Sauce.

Ive had the previous vintage. It was fine. Not great. I wouldn't buy it again. But you night want to try it.

You'd be better off spending a few more dollars and getting a bottle of the brand new 2012 Wynns black label cab sav. Around $26 a bottle and you don't have to buy a whole case! Gets some very high scores including a 96 from Halliday. Was released on Wednesdays and is selling fast. I had to go to 3 different stores to purchase the 12 bottles I wanted.

Sounds like the Halliday 94 point Pinot is a safer bet, at $7.50 a bottle (Black Market deal). I can vouch for it - nice drop, even though I rarely touch Pinots. btw, it's Six Foot Six Pinot Noir 2012.

While on the topic of Pinot Noir, their best Pinot I managed to buy was the Bellvale "The Quercus Vineyard" Pinot Noir 2008. An excellent drop and drinking very well right now.

At $15 a bottle I would definitely say it's streets ahead of the 2011 Duck Sauce (and the same price).

I will be interested to try the 2013 Duck Sauce, but hopefully it comes in one of the mixes so I only have to try 1 bottle "at risk".

I have a case of the Six Foot Six and it is very drinkable. It is a long way from a full bodied earthy Burgundy but for $7.50 I am not complaining. One thing to note though is Halliday has a tendency to overrate Pinots.

Thanks guys. Have got a lot of quaffing pinot noirs around the house so I think I'll hold off for now as am waiting for a decent deal on a 'nicer' pinot.

Noticed epiQure have the 2013 Coldstream Hills Pinot now. I've got some, but not yet tried it. Bought it based on the strength of the 2012. Found it to be fruit forward and really approachable now, but should improve in the medium term.

Any guesses for the 2010 magnum offered today for $64?
