Beefarmer, my dearest new blog friend, and fellow Pinot Noir apprecianado, this blog would not be the same without your funny posts. I must admit, I sometimes find myself having to re-read your posts to catch your gist! You are too smart for me. I am looking forward to that Sydney catch up we have tentatively mentioned.

I have been in discussions with the MyWineGuy website owner/senior manager. A very helpful man, who might be trying to secure a further case of the rare 99 point Pinot Noir - the KUPE from NZ. It's Eighty bad boys a bottle, but sounds worth it if it's getting such an amazing score. Watch this space - I am working on getting us that special PN to share over a good meal ...

Ata Rangi Pinot Noir 2013 | Dynamic Wines $63 with use SAVE104U for 10% off - is cheaper and at least as good :)

year in, year out, it's generally considered (one of) the best oz/nz pinot noir, one of the best value benchmark wines around

Just WEIGHT for some more fifty bucker food vouchers peoples !!.

Then straight to the interventionist cardiologist and endocrinologist to sort my poor body out.

At least the brain will still be ticking over - a fifty bucker freebee is always a good thing.

Thanks Qaz. That's a good deal, and an incredible wine. I've had it before, and note DM sell it. I was after something a bit different and rarer (especially when paying more than 50 sheets a bottle). Apparently, only 25 cases of that KUPE vintage have made it to Aus.

I think it's the Seppeltsfield Barossa Shiraz, previously vintage 2011.
NOTE the mof_ misdirection of winery direct of $29 and headline of $30.

2012 vintage didn't score 94 JH points. So I don't think this is it.

Me too. 2011 was offered before by VM IIRC.

Edit: McGuigan isn't a 5* Halliday winery, so not this.

Glen Eldon 8 Barrels kinda matches, but that hasn't been offered before has it? Price is $50 from winery though...

Any thoughts on why there's an unusually long time frame on the two Marlborough wines? Huge stock quantities or just giving the punters plenty of time?

McGuigan is a five star winery but I could not find a review for the 2012 on Halliday - Halliday notes the Glen Eldon at $30 but I note your fine investigative skills that the winery sells it for $50. I am stumped as to what it may be.

Ah - there are two entries for McGuigan. the Hunter Valley outfit gets 4 stars, and there's another entry for McGuigan Wines (Barossa Valley), which is 5 stars. So, we might have a winner.

2012 The Shortlist Barossa Valley Shiraz scored 94 pts and also a "special value" star
 
Just grabbed another case of the Fox Creek Cabernet Shiraz. Another ridiculously good wine at the price. Will drink one case and, if I can resist, put the other away for a few years.
