Everything matches to me. Including awards and critic scores. Interesting to see Halliday bumped up his score from 94 (reviewed in 2012) to 96 (reviewed this year), by interesting I mean it's a joke. Matches his score creeping trend

I have enough big bold reds in my cellar to pass on this one (and not cheap enough to make it a deal).

HI SAMMY, variations in scores do occur over time. I made this point with mr simic, winestate magazine man, a decade or more ago and had my letter published subsequently. Peoples' tastes do vary depending on the situation and winestate have a wine four and a half once then 3 another time. It's all subjective. What is objective as it seems is JH's scores which most ogf us agree are too high.

I took a case of the Black Market Pinot and a case of the Secret Deal Cabernet Blend. Not sure what the Cab is just taking it.
A work colleague placed the order which we are going to share.

BM Pinot should really be the one that Wozza gets excited about. Probably Tomich Hill.....I loved all that conjecture about whether one of the Randalls is a Master Of Wine yet or not. That's what I love about this big pot of ideas that we all contribute to. Sure, we can be abusive, contrite, educational, informative, but without doubt out aim is to snap a great deal. Buzzard, in the old days, some would gather around with the gunja and share a pipe or a cone. Cheech and Chong where are they now? These days we buy cheap cabernet hoping for some pot(ts). You will not be disappointed either. We have to be Frank about it don't we. Just settling in to the only Tassie pinot I have had in my life, Eddystone Point 2013 which I picked up after swapping over a disgusting Whitebox Pinot....Eddystone is good, at least an 8. Enjoy the night folks !

Interesting that the BM Pinot stars on the website has now changed from red to black, probably watching here as many have said before. So I guess Tomich Hill Winemakers Reserve Pinot Noir might be the one? I bought a case anyway for what it's worth, hopefully it's drinkable??

I must say, between VM and Winemarket, I've spent way too much money. Also got the 2005 Syrah with some credits, as well as a couple of cases of the St George from Winemarket when it was on Winemarket.

Now to drink away!

Sadly, Mr Beefarmer, sir, I am all monied out for this month after some serious fine wine purchases over the last 2 weeks (I have some absolute gems). I loved the 2012 Tomich Reserve Pinot Noir, and suspect this latest PN offer from The Fo is going to be another good one. Alas, I have 6 of the 2012 to get through, and I am not the world's fastest wine consumer (probably only 2 to 3 bottles a week - plus I am being good as I have one of those life assurance medicals to pass so my wife can sleep easy knowing that if I fall under the proverbial bus, she inherits a small fortune!!).

Eddystone 2012 was even better, think Huon Hooke had it in his top 25 reds of 2012.....and it was only $16 a bottle at Kemenys! I bought a case of both the 2012 and 2013.

beefarmer, I know exactly where you are coming from and you are 100% correct. Even though I'm sharing I really look forward to those 2 cases arriving. Less is more as far as I'm concerned. Would much sooner drink 3 bottles of 4 different wines than 12 of the same. I even have my barber buy wine from me at a good price. Plus P&H of course. If it's good enough for Danoz it's good enough for me.

PDiddy is in the house! I haven't had the particular Tomich that's on current offer, but the Tomich Reserve 2012 771 is a very nice PN (another Fo purchase from the same vineyard). I gave it a 3.5 Vivino score (that's pretty good by my tough scoring system). If I had not spent on all the crazy wines I had recently, I would have been at the front of the queue shoving you mof_s out of the way so I had another good (well priced) Pinot to drink during the week.

Wine tasting is subjective to begin with, I just find it hilarious that Halliday is milking his name for all it's worth the last few years and it works for all marketing purposes. He's been around long enough that he deserves it. How can we objectify wine scoring? It's a question i keep asking myself and I don't think there's a good answer for it.

I can't do 12 pks anymore as I feel the need for variety.

Yes, they do make fine pinot. A few of us had the flagship I-777 many months ago and that was an absolute winner. I look forward to this Reserve. It is possible that they put their effort into wine making rather than their mediocre website.

Tried the Haselgrove Batch 87 last night. Smooth but very fruity and sweet - needs a lot of cellaring time to gain some complexity - You would be a lot better off buying the Glenlofty or Fox and Hounds. My partner, however, loved it.
